Things here yesterday were nice and calm, after all that went on Friday. I had to go into the store for a meeting at 8:45, so I got going early and arrived at the mall about 7:45 did my running and then got myself coffee and a bagel and waited for the store to open. Meeting went well, while I liked Amanda (the former manager) I think the one we have now has a better understanding of the retail business and does a better job. She has a retail background, while this was Amanda's first retail experience..she had been in banking.
Came home and DD#1 had called, so I went over to see her and Remy. He looked much better yesterday..they had been applying an ice pack on ond off for his nose and she had been giving him Motrin for the pain, so he was doing fine. They have an appointment with the ENT Monday..so we'll see what that brings.
DH seems to be feeling better, think it must have been the "bird poop" on his head..better than any medication.
Stopped at the nursery on the way home from DD and bought a Spanish Lavender Plant, love the way they look...the place was a zoo. Also bought some begonia's. The yard is shaping up and I need to get some more mulch to put down. Love this time in the garden, when everything is just coming up, the lawn is so green and everything is neat and bug free.
While I was at DD's my son called...funny it was one of those moments...he said you didn't call this morning, you always call in the morning..I wondered where you were..I told him I was going to call later I thought you'd be sleeping. DD thought it was funny.. that I was explaining my where abouts to him...
Going to be spending part of today with DD#1 and my grandson, she wants to take me over and show me the new place..they're all very excited about moving in together...her BF of the past three years is moving in with them...this young an is 38 and never been married and while he spends a lot of time with them now, he really doesn't have a clue..going to love watching this.
Mary - Do hope that you are feeling better.
BB - Welcome home and also have a safe trip picking up DD.
Brenda -Sounds like you have a lovely Sat. Wish I had DGD here, need to go visit here again soon. Do miss her..she's a lot of fun.
Hope - Enjoy the art exhibit, love treating myself too, every once in awhile.
Kacee = Hope you enjoy your Mother's Day trip
KT - Well, well every neighborhood needs a little excitement now and then. If this guy starts coming around more, maybe you can get him to mow the lawn.
Pabn - Need to get some more sorting and flinging myself..but for now its more fun to work in the yard but the next rainny day..I'll get back to it.
Seren- Men & their dogs.. can just picture your DH and Maggie. When I'm out working in the yard I can hear Dh carrying on these conversations and I think he's on the phone, then I realize he's talking to the dogs.
JJ - DOn't think I welcomed you back..Think that girl singing Tweedeley Dum was Thresa Brewer...
Lesley - If you like the YA Ya movie and haven't read the book, you should. I enjoyed the book more than the movie, although it was good.
Well hope everyone does enjoy their Mothers Day....
Hugs to all Val

Love the fact that you now are expected to 'check in' with your DS!! Isn't it fun when the roles get reversed and they begin to worry about us?!!
Val, the guy next door is a good neighbor - does occasionally do some lawn edging for me and once in a while will plow out my drive in the winter. BUT there is no way on this earth that he could ever be more than a casual friend!! Just ain't gonna happen!!! LOL

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!
What I don't understand and one of the reasons I stopped going to this doctor, is that he's very quick to write a prescription....but when I told him I wanted to go to a chiropractor for a back problem I was having..he wouldn't refer me...he said and I quote "they're all quacks". He however will happily write you a prescription and unless it a bacteria related, nothing is going to help but time/rests and fluids...which is why it took DH a week to start feeling better....
Funny my DH has had a landlord for the past five years and they have had the best relationship...until he got a girlfriend but over the years I use to think maybe they would get together but my daughter would always say...yeah he's a really nice guy but he does nothing for me. Guess its the same with your neighbor.
