Good evening and rose growing question

It was good to read all the pleasant ways that the ladybugs celebrated MD. I think I would have cared least for BB's way. Maybe she is like our governor and is trying out for a part in Nascar. That poor fellow wrecked, and I know he must have been embarassed. He was practicing to drive the pace car to start the race (or whatever they call that car).

DS2 gave me the cutest enameled gold charm, a ladybug about the size of 2 actual ladybugs. I wore it as a pendant today, but I want to find a bracelet so that I can wear it as a single charm. I had seen the ladybug bracelets but not the single charms.

Our system is celebrating for every school did well on the EOG tests. There is double joy for the improved scores mean bonus checks for the teachers and other staff.

Are there any ladybugs who specialize in growing roses? I also received a rose bush, a pure white tea rose for MD. I have another that has survived despite my poor care for several years. Any hints will be appreciated on how to care for them.

I have a spot in full sun where I am planning to start my little rose garden. Sounds as if it may work. I didn't realize that deer like roses. I thought that the thorns would help keep them away. I guess the fragrance helps draw them to them. Thanks for the info.

It is the cutest little charm, BB. He got it at Kays. That was some driving, going up and back to NC in one day, not to mention the packing. Hope you are rested by now.

I have no room in the yard for a garden so I am going to put up some window boxes. I started some asters inside and they are coming up fine. But it says on the seed packet to thin them out. I'm afraid I will pick out the good ones. Kathey

Here it is Wed. and I just read your post about roses.

Bren, the white roses are beautiful and often very fragrant. One thing you should know is that white roses tend to get buggy in the heat.

Also KaCee's comment about "black spot" is a problem. However, both problems can be taken care of with a good insecticide and fungicide. Ortho makes combination products if you care to use them. I usually feed my roses with a "systemic" product that takes care of insects as well as feeds them. It is difficult to find one product that will handle feeding, insects and fungus.

Finding the right system of care for you will provide you with much enjoyment of your gift. One of the wedding pictures on the Photo Island site shows DD in front of one of my rose gardens. Not a great photo of the roses, but at least there is a hint of their beauty.

I have read a lot about the care of roses and have found that most employees of the garden centers don't know as much about it as a novice who has read up on them, due to the personal interest.

Enjoy.

That's what I use in my Roses and so far so good.. Up here in the winter I cage them up and mulch with leaves and then remove it in May after the frost has past... just a idea... wren
