I spent the most of yesterday with some friends who are getting ready to move to Tennessee. I drove over to their house (about 60 miles away). I used to work with this gal and became very good friends with her and her hubby.

Talk about your MBF moments... I headed west on I96 and after about 60 miles on the Xway I realized that I should have gotten off about 35 miles sooner! I had been off in my own little world and not even thinking about the route I should have taken! I happened to see the name of a city that triggered a reaction and I got off the Xway and headed north! Had to drive 21 miles to get to where they live. I traveled a total of 80 miles to go 60!! Thank goodness I am familiar with that side of the state and wasn't really 'lost'!! It only took me 30 minutes longer than it should have to get there!!!

We had a very nice lunch and visit. But by the time I got home I just barely had time to make it to the Meno chat and visit our Garden for about 30 minutes before I began to fall asleep!

Ah, the adventures of the absent minded!!!

Kt, the absent-minded can have the best adventures, can't they? LOL A few years ago, I headed out with a GF to visit DD1 in college in Boston. Just wanted to see her, we had some time, off we went. Started out about 3 am. Me driving, DF asleep. Just north of Knoxville, without a care in the world, and where was my mind, I headed off east to the Carolina beaches. Well, there was a bit of mileage before we would have hit the Atlantic, but I just think there was a vision of a beach in my head at that moment. LOL Shortly thereafter, I realized what I had done, corrected the mistake, DF was never the wiser. Just slept through it all!! That night, though, we were so exhausted, had gotten lost somewhere in Pennsylvania, looking for a gas station, and so fell asleep the minute our heads hit the pillows in our motel. The next morning, at breakfast, everyone was talking about the fire scare the night before. I guess about 2 in the morning, an alarm had gone off, and they evacuated this entire four-floor Hampton Inn....DF later told me she'd thought she heard a noise, and someone was pounding on our door, but thought it must be a dream, or someone who'd had too much to drink...! There were a few more misadventures on our trip, but that's enough. I do believe absent-minded people have the best adventures. LOL Glad you had a good visit and safely returned home! Seren
