Yes I'm still alive........barely!

I will spare you the gory details and they WERE gory but I gave 2 weeks notice at my job, the manager quit outright when I did, and I am being begged to please consider staying on as Manager. Also on Friday I have been asked to come in for that "work day" at the Attorneys office and then they will be making their decision. The money is very attractive at the store but it means 50 hours a week and I can barely stand 40 now. I don't think things would change all that much just cause I was Manager. I know when I told them I quit I felt like a weight had been lifted off me! As you know the job situation here is horrific. What do you think?

Been skimming the board some trying to keep in touch. Thinking of you all everyday.

Oh yeah, finally got DSL installed last night! AWESOME!!!!!!

Love to all!

Sharon, no matter how attractive the money may be the people you will be working for are still the same people who made you work Easter Sunday.

Now as the manager you will be responsible, when someone doesn't show up for work etc.

While they are saying 50 hours a week, you can bet it's going to be more...and since you not happy being there 40 hours...Sure now they're begging you to stay..a couple of weeks ago they were writing you up....these are things you have to remember and take into consideration while you make your decision...I definitely think you should try out the position for the day at the lawyers office and see where that goes.

Good luck with making this decision but from what I recall you have been unhappy with this company from the beginning. That's another thing to consider, what kind of support will you get from the people above you, if you take the management position. I see even with Yankee Candle which is a good company, how many hours these managers work and how much is expected of them. The other day my new manager came in, she's eight months pregnant and she was limping..she had fallen down the stairs at her house the night before...the young girl who was suppose to come in for the next shift..called in sick, Angela (the manager) called a few people but no one could come in and she had to work the night till closing by herself.

Of course, if you take the position and it doesn't work out you can always quit but right now you have the possibility of this other opportunity....

Again Sharon good luck with your decision...Val
