I have been up a long time. I don't feel so great. I'm thinking something I ate didn't agree with me. I had salad last night and DH didn't and he seems fine. I had mushrooms in the salad. Do they go bad? They looked and smelled okay. I never know waht to do about them. The cooks on the food network tell you not to get them wet--to just wipe them off with a damp paper towel. But to me they always look so dirty I just have to wash them. Oh well. Maybe the Beef Inspector has the skinny on that.

We had a brief, but crazy storm yesterday. We were without electricity for about three hours. I think there was a live wire down in the next block because there were firetrucks and police cars and they blocked off the road in front of my house. I watched guys from the electric company climbing up on top of the pole near us and it was lightning like crazy. I was scared for them. They earned their money yesterday for sure! I am going to go out and spend a couple of gift certificates I got for Mother's Day. One is to a local nursery and one is to the book store. I am going to get the new "Miss Julia" book. Then I have to come home and do laundry. I was rolling right along on that when the electricity went out.

Hope all of you have a good day.--Pat

Mushrooms and any other food can "go bad". Have you ever had a reaction to mushrooms before? A lot of people are allergic to them. I always wash mushrooms. I heard that you should not put wet mushrooms back in the fridge. Perhaps it was something else, like the salad dressing. I get upset from a lot of oil in bottled salad dressings. I hope the icky leaves you soon so you can enjoy your day. Kathey

Sorry you are not feeling so good this morning, Pat. Do hope you get to feeling better as the day goes on. Rest and read that new book while you are finishing up the laundry.

I marvel at those linemen...they get out there in all kinds of weather. Sometimes it is really scary.

Hugs...Pab

Pat, you have been on my mind and in my prayers so much lately. I can't imagine how scared and nervous you must be with all those violent storms and tornadoes in your part of the country. When the bad weather reports are on TV, I always check your area, and say a little prayer for you. And I am always thankful and relieved to see you back here in the garden after we haven't heard from you for a few days.

I don't eat that many mushrooms, but I always wash them too, then pat them dry. Sorry you feel sick. Could it have been the lettuce? Sometimes if lettuce isn't washed thoroughly, it can give you a bad tummy too. Hope you feel better real soon.

I've been meaning to e-mail you, but have been out of town a lot and just plain busy, and when I remember that I need to e-mail you, it seems I am not sitting at the computer. Then, of course, I forget. Are you going to be able to go to Savannah with us in the fall? I know it's a long way for you, but I hope you will think about it. Love, BB
