Looks like several of you have plans for the day -- Wren is off to the woods on a school field trip and Shari is closing down the Shariton for a while. Hope everyone had a good day, whatever your plans might be.

It has just started to rain here, so I will probably be doing inside work today. Heaven knows, there is enough work to do inside my house to keep me busy for days (and DAYS!).

Made a decision yesterday, and announced to my kids that I will no longer be doing any of their laundry. DD is used to doing hers now anyway, since she has been away at school all year. And it's time DS started doing his own laundry too. I have been doing it for him, but that ended as of yesterday. He will be turning 21 in June, and has plans to get his own aparment then, so it's time he started taking care of it himself. So.....Mom is out of the laundry business as of today (except for me and DH, who is not allowed anywhere near the laundry room. Lots of horror stories there, tales of shrunken sweaters and pink underwear).

Becky, again, I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Time for me to get dressed. I was up way too late last night (midnight) and slept until 8:15 this morning. Need to get a move on.

Have a good day every buggie, and I will see you on the board later and in chat tonight......BB

Bravo! Your next step is to have them buy their own soap and dryer sheets; that's a whole course in economics by itself.

Enjoy you day inside. I saw where you said your inside plants were not doing well. Mine didn't either but I think it was the potting soil. I went and dug up some plain backyard dirt and the new seeds are doing fine now. Kathey

Good afternoon Beebsie Bug!! Good for you in making your kids do their own laundry. I remember when my mom started that with me though and how I hated it. That's what I need now, a wife or a mom to do the stuff around here that I'm not to fond of..LOL!!

The moms that do a great disservice to their sons are the ones who continue to do everything for them. It's important to make them clean the house and I mean every part of it, not all in the same day though. I mean that whenever it's time to clean a part of the house, have them do it sometimes. They also need to know how to cook and cook well and how to *iron* too!! You are a great mom and your kids will thank you for teaching them how to do these things.

My late DH was only partially banned from the laundry. I had to hide the Clorox though. That was before they made the bottles that don't splash so badly. What a mess he made, ruined a lot of clothes..LOLHope the sun comes out there, but the weather map looked like you'll be socked in for awhile. I think the sun is finally out to stay here for today, but tomorrow will be bringing more rain again.

The one thing that my kids hated and still do is pulling weeds. I'd heard somewhere that a mom, as a summer project when school was out, was to have her kids pull a bucket of weeds every day and then they could go and do whatever they wanted. Of course they had other household chores too though. Hmmmm..thought I, that's a good idea!! They still hate those darned weeds..LOL!! It's funny when they still talk about it sometimes..LOL!!

Enjoy your day dear friend....Hugs, Susie

Oh shoot!! I meant to edit that message again. I'd edited it, copy/pasted and changed it around and it still wasn't right. Now it's really messed up near the ending parts. Oh well, I think you can figure it out okay though..LOL!!....Silly Suze
