Finally saw dentist. Good news is I need periodontal work, but not surgery. Hooray. A few other teeth have to be taken care of. Because he rescheduled, I ended up with two appts. today, the other one with the podiatrist. My broken toe seems to have healed nicely. But there seem to be lots of arthritis on the right ankle, and another heel spur. So, now I have to see the orthopedist. Then there's the cardiologist and optometrist next week too. I was thinking that I might as well try to see a plastic surgeon. LOL Everything is so specialized.

After seeing the doctors, I went to Bath and Beyond and bought some nice things for the bedroom and kitchen. That made me feel better for awhile. But, arranging to have the items delivered, a security guard came and insisted on taking the empty shopping cart. Off the went with it, and I forgot my cane was inside. Just as I was leaving the store, I remembered the cane. But the guard was on break. I waited for him to come back, and then he told me he hadn't taken the cart. Then proceeds to tell me " You made a big mistake if you handed the cart to someone with something inside. If you did that, you deserve to lose it." Now, I am upset and angry. So, I ask for the manager and sit in a comfortable garden chair to wait for him. Since I need to pay some bills, I take out my checkbook and proceed to write out the checks and put them in the envelopes. Half an hour later, the manager shows up and I explain what happened to him. He then says he will conduct a search of the store for my cane, and talk to the security guard. He asks me to wait . I

I decide to go about my business and tell him to call as soon as they find it. I limp up the block to Dylans Candy Store ( she's Ralph Lauren's daughter). It look like a sweet shoppe. I go to the ice cream bar and ask for a chocolate egg cream ( chocolate syrup, milk, and seltzer). After sipping it, I pick out 1lb of candy from about 100 candy bins- mary janes, malt ball, peanut chew, non pareill (sp) etc. I did get a few non sugar ones too.

Then I go into Bloomingdales and up to the Lancome counter where I ask this nice man to do my makeup. I walked out of there feeling lovely. Took a taxi home. As I entered the door, Ds says the manager called they found your cane. All's well that ends well. Or something like that.

Oh, Hope, what a day! Glad they found your cane, but geez, that was a rude thing for that security guard to say to you. There is no excuse for that.

Goodness, you are having a lot of doctor's appointments. But just think, when you are done, you won't have to go back for a long while. Sure hope you continue to get better.

But.....all's well that ends well, as you said. Glad to see you back here and I hope to see you in chat in a few.....Love, BB

Hope, I'm incensed for you! Geez. But glad you got your cane back, or will get it back. Sorry about the periodontal, but glad it's not surgery. Oprah's show today was about these major plastic surgeries that people have had for some TV show. The docs can sure do a lot for a person these days, but wish they had mentioned the prices!! It was interesting, though. A peanut chew sounds deluxe right about now! Seren
