I came home to the nicest surprise!!!

But back to the surprise. I received a package from iVillage with a copy of the cookbook of Heirloom Recipe they recently published. They chose two of my recipes for inclusion and sent me a complimentary copy. ;-) Isn't that nice?
My mammogram was routine and within normal limits. Breakfast with my DSIL who lives just 15 minutes from the hospital breast center was relaxing. We had a great conversation and chose dates for the *brothers* (our DHs) to get together for golf when we're on the Cape. What will we do? Shop and *do lunch*! ;-)
When I got home at noon, the girls desperately needed a walk and a snack. Now they are happily lounging on the family room sofa. As for me, I think I'll brew a pot of tea and then come back and read the board.
Bye for now.

Let me tell you what i'm trying to do! I've tried to take a picture of my dustymiller. I just got it last night from the K-mart garden center. and was tellin my dd2 about it. She has never seen one before so I told her that I would try to capture it on my webcam and send it too her. So far it is too pale to show it in its gray color! I also got three different colors of Geraniums at the same time.
I called my dd1 this morning, it's her 31 birthday!
Your house sounds so big from the way you discribe it! You need a bb gun for those nasty farmits, teasing! LOL
Hugs, SusieK
Actually I didn't enter any recipes, but over the years I have posted many on the boards. They chose two that I *think* I posted when I was CL at another board.
iVillage *owns* the right to publish anything we post but asked permission to use my name in the book and I gave permission.
One recipe is for Sand Art Brownies (from a friend) and another for Fruit Tarts (my own recipe).
Happy birthday to your DD! Our DD will be 32 this fall. *They* are getting old, aren't they.
About my house ... It's a good-sized house but not as big as the new homes in our area. Truthfully the older I get, the bigger it seems. LOL! I just washed the kitchen floor ... again ... and it might as well be the size of a football field! ;-)I have a few photos of the interior on my webpages (via my profile) but none of the outside.
Hope your plant photos come out better. We need a new camera. I want two ... a traditional for stills and a digital.
Bye for now.

As long as you have the roofers there, is there something that can be done (without harming Woody) to disuade him from ruining your new wood?
As usual, you made the best of your day with a nice lunch and conversation. Enjoy your tea and afternoon. Kathey
Short of putting aluminum siding on the entire house, there's not much that can be done. These birds usually peck at dead trees for bugs and such. Goodness knows we have more than an acre of trees ... several dead, I'm sure ... for the old boy to peck at. But we are told woodpeckers are also quite dumb! LOL! They just keep trying and when they get hungry enough they move on. ;-) Maybe he's on WW and clapboards have *0* points.
The cookbook can be purchased. Here's the link.
