Oh my goodness, what a fantastic show!! If they don't win an award for that presentation, no one should in my opinion. I was so deeply into it and so very thankful that I was born into this grand country. It was so very well filmed, I felt like I got a real glimpse of what life must be like there in third world countries and the will to survive. Hope you got to see it too. Here is a brief synopsis of the show from their website......
"In a special episode, Carter travels to the war-torn Congo of Kisangani as part of a voluntary medical program. He finds primitive Third World facilities, a few heroic staffers and woeful patients overflowing the tiny hospital while a bloody civil war threatens to engulf them all. After Carter ventures deeper into the jungle to reunite with Kovac, they risk their lives manning a crude outpost used for a vaccination campaign--and soon find themselves in the line of fire between the warring tribes."
Next season, Dr. Carter will be a very different person for sure for having had this extraordinary eye-opening experience. I'll be right there glued to the TV set to see it too.

HAG evening.

I Kind of felt bad because between SARS and terriost attacks William and I are not traveling to parts unknown to bring a smile to peoples faces. We pack extra clothes when we travel to give to people. They are so happy to get the clothes that it brings tears to our eyes. Those vacations are our best vacations you know the ones where we can share what we have with other people in the world. You girls should try it because you will be hooked after the first time you walk into a village without knowing the language and people welcome ya with open arms. Some how we always manage to get by with sign language....
Yes the show had a positive effect on Bill & I.... Mahalo for asking.....
Aloha,

I started watching the show, but it was so intense, and Shelby was still up and was getting a little emotional about it, so I turned. I am going to watch for it in re-runs. That show, after all these years, is the best. It is so well written.
Have a great weekend, KS. See my post under BB's Nannie Nannie Foo foo. See what bad things I did today. LOL.

Yes, the love for each other always comes through strongly in any type of drama films I've seen like that one on ER. They have no money or material things to become jealous of and they are so poor that they appreciate what little they do have. We all can learn much from them.
My DD2 and DSIL have traveled twice on missionary trips and it was a life changing experience for them. It took them awhile to settle back into our way of living after they returned.
Anyway, thank you for sharing a part of your experiences with us....Susie
