Good afternoon Bug, may I vent here?

Brr...I think I'm going to have to turn on the heat! I wanted to stay in bed soooo badly this morning, but dragged myself out and went to the Y. Have since then dealt with the exterminator (for ants) and the appliance man (to fix the ice maker in fridge).

At least we had a nice evening for *girls night out*. We had 16 in attendance and everything went well, except for one little glitch. The three girls who were bringing the appetizers were the last ones there! Now wouldn't you think that if you had to bring appetizers and knew you were running late, that you'd get them to the hostess ahead of time? The hostess and I quickly whipped up some snacks for the now hungry women, while waiting for the real ones to arrive. <>

I think I made a little comment when the appetizer people arrived an hour late, that might have raised their eyebrows a little! They couldn't believe that was coming from always smiling, mild mannered me! I might have to mention that this group is a ladies club of which I am the President and have been for the last 5 yrs. Last night was my last night as Pres. though, yea! Now I am just in charge of the big fundraiser we have every Thanksgiving weekend! Out of the frying pan into the fire!

DH and I have nothing planned tonight, so will probably just watch a movie.

I hope everyone is staying dry and warm....

Hugs,Shari

I agree with 100%, Shari The trio should have shown more consideration.

I'd have been tempted to greet them with a smile and say "Cheese puffs for dessert! How original!" LOL! But I probably would have zipped my lips and said nothing.

I have also reached the end of my term as *coordinator* of Dining Divas gatherings. I feel that by always being the one to do things ... even though I may have the time and do it well ... I am depriving others of the oopportunity to share their time and gifts.

It's chilly here, too. The heat went on in our home automatically. It was 40* outside this AM ... damp, too. Not what we expect for the end of May.

Enjoy your quiet family time tonight.

I agree, shari - I think we suffer fools and thoughtless folk less gladly as we get older. I'm glad you said something.

Happy fundraiser - I hope never to do it again ..... shudder!!!!!!

Enjoy your movie.

Well, I said something like this, "We've got some hungry ladies here and no appetizers!.Guess next time you better sign up for dessert!"

Later I told them that the appetizers were so good that they were *forgiven* for bringing them so late.... how's that for smoothing things over?

Smooth, Shari. But I'm sure they got your point when you first said what you did. Which you should have! You are the president, and they deserved that little reprimand. I think that was very rude.

We're in for the night too. Not sure what we will do yet, probably not much of anything.

Have a good one.....Love, BB

You have every right to vent. That was inconsiderate of those gals to "forget" the term appetizer means before dinner.

Ain't the weather somethin'? These northeasters have a way of hanging around for 3 days. Hope that isn't the case this time.
