Hi, Bugs

We were on the road by a little after 9AM and headed west. An hour later we were exiting I90 and were within 10 miles of the Brimfield Antique Fair. Within ten minutes the traffic came to a standstill. An hour and thirty minutes later we had only covered about five miles! Grrrrrrrrr!

There was no sign of an accident. Nothing was said on the radio news. I guess the Fair has become more popular than ever. So after being on the road for 2 1/2 hours, we turned off onto the next side street, turned around, and headed home.

We stopped at a few small antique shops along the way but I found just one thing: a plate ... pink depression glass ... quite pretty.

We certainly had time for good, uninterrupted conversation and we stopped for lunch at a Thai restaurant, which was excellent.

Now my DH and the girls are “resting” (sleeping) on the family room sofa and I’m visiting the Garden.

It’s quite cold here! Cloudy and damp, too. I need a hot cup of tea!

Have a god afternoon, Bugs.

Oh, Francine, what a disappointment for you. It's a shame how events like that become TOO popular.

Glad you had a nice day in spite of it all....Hugs, BB

Francine- what a shame you couldn't get to the fair. But, I am glad you still had a nice day. We used to go up to the Brimfield Fair every year for about ten years. It was crowded then, but nothing like what you describe today. That sounds like a lovely piece of depression glass. Enjoy

Hi Francine - isn't it frustrating when something like that happens. it's so disappointing. We had a similar thing happen when we were going to an antique fair in England but we stayed in the traffic and eventually got there. It was so huge, though, and we'd wasted so much time on the road that we didn't get ot see everything we wanted to.

We're thinking of going to an estate auction tomorrow. It sounds quite lovely - all kinds of collectibles listed in the advert. It's over an hour away, though, and I'm not sure I want to give my Saturday over to a sale. We'll see how we feel when we get up tomorrow.

Are you over your mammo???? I hope so.

Yes, JJ.

The mammogram and ultrasound are fading memories ... until next year.

For a while I was going every three months. THAT was a pain ... everywhere! ;-)

But now I feel *safe* and will trust that the doctors know what they are doing and that I am doing all the right things, too.

We have gone to the Fair for years! This is the first time we have ever had a problem. We listened to the news tonight to see if there had been an accident or some other reason for the inordinate amount of traffic, but ... nothing.

We'll try again during the summer ... and this time we'll leav at 7AM. ;-)

Have a good night.

F.
