I got to meet Tami! Dannie brought her to lunch! What a sweetheart and what a gorgeous young woman! She has the most beautiful skin and absolutely the 'bestest' smile, and a personality to go along with it -- friendly, outgoing, relaxed and very intelligent. We had the best time!

We ate lunch in the cafeteria, and I think we all had different things. I had a grilled chicken leg, steamed veggies, cornbread and something called a Kanosha (is that right, Dannie?). All of it was wonderful, except that it was cold. It was SOOOO cold in that place, OMG! My hands were numb by the time we left. Tami was freezing too. Next time, we will remember our heavy coats.

After lunch, we did some shopping -- oh dear, the things we bought and the things we SAW! This place is an international marketplace extraordinaire, and has just about anything you would ever want (except cherries, which Dannie wanted badly..:-(..). We saw things in that produce department that I have never seen before, and I thought I had see it all at the gourmet market I normally go to. Some of the things were downright obscene looking!..LOL! We had fun picking things up and feeling and smelling them and laughing about them.

Tami, the kind heart that she is, got a little upset when she wandered into the seafood department and saw some of the live seafood, struggling to escape from their bondage, and some live crabs that had lost a leg or two. We decided they shouldn't let people see that kind of stuff. We want our seafood DEAD before we look at it! And we want those eyes removed from that smoked fish too!....LOL!

We bought some neat stuff -- too much to name -- lots of good fruit and vegetables, and some special pita chips, that Tami told me were very good, and lots of other stuff. We shopped for about an hour after lunch, and it was so much fun.

If I have left out anything (and I'm sure I have), maybe Dannie or Tami will come along and fill in the gaps.

I will check in later. Hope everyone has had a good day. I have!...BB

Forgot to say to Francine that Dannie told me all about the wonderful basket of goodies you sent to her. That was so sweet of you, and I think it really made her day. You are so thoughtful...BB

BB, I am not familiar with "Nannie, nannie, foo foo" Is that like "na,na,na,na,na"?(in a sing-song voice) I have never heard that before! Your nannie, nannie reminded me of a picture I saw at the espresso place this morning. It was taken by a person who lived just down the road. It was of their little goats out in their fruit orchard. Two of them were munching away on the grass and a third was in one of the fruit trees, munching away on the blossoms! It was a miniature fruit tree and the goat had jumped up there as they like the blossoms. It was the cutest picture! I told the barista they should put it on-line. So funny to see a goat in a tree!

Tami sounds like a lovely girl and it sounds like a great time was had by all. KaCee

Poof!!! I'm gone!!

There goes that Southern Belle twist of the English language again (lol). I always heard, "Nanny, Nanny, Boo Boo". But to make sure I put it in the search engine and sure enough "Nanny, Nanny, Boo Boo" came up. But guess what? It's a website about chocolate. I put it in my favorites, of course.

Q. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?

A. Because no one wants to quit.

Puff, puff, puff! After we left BB, Tami and I made the race across time to pick Shelby up. Then it was back to Buckhead to pick up Tami's new glasses and some prescriptions. So I am finally back at home.

BB, thanks so much for being so sweet to Tami. She really enjoyed herself today, except for the part where she wandered in and saw the crabs. She hates to see anybody or anything suffer.

Tami and I kinda mixed things up. The food was good, except, like BB said, it was cold. I had beef kabob, corn on the cob that does not need butter or salt, raspberry marinated chicken wings, and gazpacho (which had too much cilantro in it and made it taste soapy), and mixed vegetables. Tami had a veggie Samosa, turkey and pita bread, a piece of pound cake, which I ended up eating most of when we got back home (yummy).

Then the shopping. I indulged in things that I really did not need. I got chocolate covered mints, cherry preserves, and gourmet Black Forest Brownies (which are so good that they make you want to eat the plate). I am going to have to make this bit of indulgence last for a long, long time.

But as all of our lunches, the fun and conversation were the icing on the cake for BB and I, and this time my Tami was able to join the fun. She did have a couple of moments when she looked as though she did not know what planet we came from. It literally made me forget that I work on Fridays. Oooops. LOL.

See y'all later.

Hugs,

Dannie

That picture sounds adorable! I think goats are so cute!

I think I have that expression right, but maybe not. I remember hearing my kids use it when they were little, as in, "Nannie, nannie, foo foo, you can't catch me." And, yes, it is said in a sing-sing voice like na-na-na-na-na-na......BB

Samosa! That's what it was! I've been telling everyone I had a kanosha for lunch! No wonder nobody knew what I was talking about...LOL!

Next time I'll bring my DD and they can cry together over the live creatures.

I just knew those brownies would be delicious. Now I wish I had bought some. No, I don't! Yes, I do! No, I don't..Yes......LOL!

Sure was fun, Dannie. Give Tami another hug from me....Love to you both....BB

BB, it sounds as though you, Dannie and Tami had a wonderful time. It's a shame you were so cold during lunch but I'm sure the shopping that followed warmed you all up. I'd love to know the names of some of the more exotic food you looked at.

Hope your evening is great.
