you could almost "eat" the air. And more rain is predicted. So much rain we are having. I shouldn't complain, because we have been in a drought for several years -- water restrictions, lake levels at record lows. But when we drove to NC to pick up DD last Sunday, and we passed over a lake on the SC-GA border (Lake Hartwell), we noticed that it was completely full. It was so low last year that ALL of the docks were on dry land. Grass and trees wwere growing where the water had been before the drought. But now, all the docks are back in the water, and there is no sign at all of that wide and ugly red Georgia clay area that could be seen around the lake for the past few years. So.....don't get me wrong, I am grateful for all the rain we have had, but...........ARRRRRGGGGHHH!!!! Enough is ENOUGH!

Okay, got that out of my system.

My volunteer work this morning was sitting at a table, registering people for the walk, which will take place in October. I will probably volunteer to be a part of the crew for the walk too -- a worker bee, as it were. I would really like to do that. I'll be gone for 2 days, but I don't have to raise money and I don't have to walk! And this year's walk is completely different from last year's Avon walk. This is a new event, with a local promoter, and is only a 2 day, 35 mile walk, not a 3-day, 60-mile walk like last year. The walkers (and crew) will sleep in hotels, not tents like we did last year. So....I can be on the crew and help the cause without going through all the training and the walking. Who knows, I just might walk again next year, but this year, I'd rather be on the crew...:-).

There were lots of vendors at the walk-expo this morning -- shoe companies, chiropractors, sunglass people, even the Juice Plus people had a table set up. There was one table with beautiful breast-cancer related jewelry on it, most of it made with pink Austrian crystals. I couldn't resist -- bought myself a pretty silver bead and pink Austrian crystal necklace, with a breast cancer ribbon charm in the middle. Very pretty!

So, I had a very nice morning, met lots of new people, and saw a lot of my friends from the walk last year.

DH and I are going out for Mexican tonight (duh! -- maybe I should start reporting when we are NOT going out for Mexican on Saturday night. It seems so redundant telling you that every week.

Need to do some "Stuff" around here -- back later to catch up. Hope you are all happy and healthy and feeling no pain (remember that song?..LOL!)......BB

Boy, how do you even move when it is that humid? MB was my first experience with humidity. Walking on the beach that one night I felt like I had a heavy damp blanket on me. Whew! We just don't have that here. Sometimes we have a "muggy" day but nothing like I experienced down there.

This years walk sounds just right after last years! Good of you to volunteer to help.

Have a great dinner and have a Margarita for me(blended, no salt!) ;-) KaCee

Poof!!! I'm gone!!

It was about as near perfect day today as you can get. Sun, breeze temps in the 70s and dry air. I am not looking forward to humid...I hate hot and humid.

DH and I burned a ton of cardboard and wood scraps etc today. Now if we could just burn some of this junk......(sorry, this good, almost new, new, I might need stuff) I would be happy. He will say just throw it away it is mine....like I never toss my own stuff out. LOl. So I told the kids that they were going to have to deal with it and they were about as thrilled as me...lol........Janet
