An Unexpected Day

When I got up today, I had planned to just hang around the house and get a few things done. Wrong! My best GF called and asked if I would go with her to a house that she owns and meet with a guy that we went to high school with, who happens to be a real estate leasing agent. So I said okay. I picked her up, because she hates to drive, and met him there. BTW, life can be so unfair. This guy has barely aged since high school. MEN! Why do they do that?

After that, she wanted to go and shop for deck furniture, so we hopped on 85 north and found a patio/fireplace store that is going out of business soon. They had the nicest stuff at the best prices. The owner was saying to other customers that Lowes and Home Depot are putting them out of business, and they are going to close their stores here. They will remain open in Florida. Too bad that we don't need any new outdoor furniture. I would love to have bought one set. It was beautiful. It had an old-southern charm. Ah well.

Then we had lunch at Pappadouxs', a lovely cajun-seafood place. They have all types of seafood, which I don't eat, but my friend does. She had crawfish bisque and steamed mussels. I had chicken tenders and onion rings. They were the spiciest onion rings that I had ever had. They made beads of sweat pop out on my head. I must have eaten six pieces of garlic bread and drunk a gallon of iced-tea. I was still sweating from the onion rings.

Then I rushed home to listen to "A Prarie Home Companion" because MM and her DH were there tonight. It was a very funny show tonight. I wish that I had tickets to the show here in Atlanta next Saturday, but they were sold out long ago.

Anyway, I hope that you all have a great evening.

Hugs,

Dannie

Oh drats! Dannie, I fell asleep and missed the Prairie Home Companion Show! I didn't remember it until about 9:00, then came to the boards to see if anyone had heard it--and wha-la, you had!

If if makes you feel any better, the men at my HS reunion did NOT look as good as the girls! The ladies looked much better!

So glad you enjoyed your *unexpected* day!

Sleep tight!

Dannie, it sounds as though you had a grand day. don't you love unexpected days like that????? It's funny you should mention onion rings - yesterday, at work, one of the students came in with fresh made onion rings at lunch time. He gave me a few as the order was so big. the first onion rings I've had for a very long time and they were delicious!!!

Hope you Sunday is as nice as your Saturday.

hugs

I have an old friend who I know since second grade. He lives in Florida, but would hate to see him because men age so differently. C'est la vie. You seemed to have had a fabulous day. Food sounded scrumptious. I am happy for you.

I love seafood, so of course, I love Pappadeaux. I go there as often as possible. I will try those onion rings next time.

Just sitting here thinking.....my deck furniture is old (18 years). Sure would be nice to have some new stuff, especially if I can get a good deal on it. Hmmm....might have to make a trip to the place you mentioned.

Enjoy your Sunday, Dannie.....BB

Sounds as if you have had 2 days in a row of gallivanting around. (That was my mother's expression for being out doing what I wanted to do.) It does sound as if you have had 2 good days with friends. I would love to see the deck furniture sale.
