Sunday School is over till fall. VBS is the last week of June so a few weeks before that gets into full swing. Yesterday was a full day. I had a meeting in *the city* in the morning, the last one of the teacher's honorary society that I am the secretary for. We had our meeting and everyone brought a salad for a luncheon to end the year.
We got back home around 12:30 and I had to go to the church to finish getting set up for the reception for the families and friends of the First Communion class. We had First Communion last night and have a light reception for them. I order everything from the delis...the easiest way. Had a count of 130 possibly attending so ordered accordingly. Not everyone that I thought stayed for the reception. The only thing that I had lots left over with were the veggie trays. I had ordered 4 large...we didn't even open 2 and there were lots left on the 2 that were opened. There was a good amount of cheese and bread left and some of the meat but I will freeze that and we will make grilled cheese and sandwiches for VBS (we meet from 6-8pm and fix a light supper for the kids each night) So I think I am going to cook the veggies that I can for just a short time, then freeze them so that we can make veggie soup for possibly VBS or for something that we might need it for next fall. Not sure if the little kids will really eat veggie soup but know there will be times in the fall that we can use up the frozen veggies.
My summer seems to be getting booked...not crazy but enjoyable I think. I am scheduled to go to a church workshop for two days the middle of June. Yesterday at the meeting our president said that she was not going to be able to attend the regional conference that they are having in our state, the VP cannot go so they looked at me to see if I would be free to be the rep from our chapter. It is in the middle of July and I don't have anything going on so I will probably...more like will be going to that. Since it is being held in our state we are needing to send people to be hostesses...you know how that goes. It will be interesting to attend. So I need to get the calander out and get the different activities blocked off on it, so I know what to be expecting. LOL
Now I need to get back to my house. This past week it got put on the back burner as I was getting things lined up for the reception and getting things finalized for the HS class who headed off for their Youth Convention Friday afternoon. They will be back this afternoon, but I am done, the chaperones will get the vans back to rental place...I don't have to be there to *greet* them when they return.
I need to fix myself another (_)> of tea and get the kitchen tidied up abit and then see what I need to do next. I also plan on resting as my legs are hurting me a wee bit...being on them all yesterday afternoon and evening.
I did a bit of reading this morning, sounds like everyone is getting along okay. School years are ending for everyone...Hope, enjoy your summer. Brenda, will you be finishing up for the summer here soon or are you year-round staff?
Hugs to all...
Pab

Now Pab, you have got to get that leg feeling better! After all, we have quite a bit of walking to do in Savannah! :) Right?
PS.Savannah was in the top 10 vacation spots in this morning's paper.
Take care,
Love, Shari
Soup sounds good for today as it is so cool here, high in the low 60s I believe.
I will be working through June, and then I am not sure how much I will be working. My supervisor is retiring, and they cannot find a replacement that they like for her. A decision of how much and where I will work will be made after they replace her. I may just continue in my position as I am now. They have not advertised for it, yet. When they decide, I will take time off as I can this summer, and then some through the year.
Hope you have a good day.

i think you deserve a maid to come and clean up your house for you now!!!! Now that is a real pampering kind of treat, in my opinion. I had a cleaning lady all last fall and I loved it. I had to stop when DH retired at Christmas because ..... well, because, I guess. I surely do miss her though. It didn't take me long to learn how to rely on her - lol.
It sounds as though you have some interesting things coming up for the summer. don't forget to block in the Savannah trip :):):).
