There is a bit of concern with DD managing to drive home this week, since we are to have rain and thunderstorms at least until next weekend. She is an awful driver in the city, but does fine on the highway. Riding with her in city traffic is about more than DH and I can bare(bear?)! She tends to brake only at the last minute, has her music on too loud (and, of course, it's always in Italian and she's singing along when she isn't busy translating for us...aaarrgh), and in general doesn't seem to take driving as seriously as she should. She isn't a speeder on the open road, though. But the music is still loud. LOL Does this sound familiar to any of you??
BB, you really have researched the ant world, haven't you? Frankly, I didn't even know ants had queens; I only knew about bees. Did you ever have an ant farm? LOLOL Oh, that would be cruel for you! Oh, the other day, I went to post a letter at my mailbox which is beside my front door. The cutest little birds had built a nest in it. You know, birds can construct those things pretty quickly. In the past I have had wreaths on the door in the spring, and always had nests built in them. Well, I knew I should take the nest out, but just didn't want to, so I put a little basket under the mailbox for now. The mail man has been putting our mail in the basket very nicely, but I think the birds won't be using the nest with so much human activity there. The problem is that I put a couple of clothes pins on my mailbox to attach outgoing letters, and that keeps the box propped open just enough to be inviting to the birds. OK, that's my animal nature story for today.
I've read most of the board, and am glad to know I'm not the only person feeling a bit lazy today! It's hard to get real motivated on a rainy Sunday. DH is all set to fly out next Sunday, except that I need to make sure he has a light jacket ready to pack. DD is still wearing her "hoodie" and sweatshirts. If the sun is shining and she stands in it, she's fine. If she is in the shade, or the wind is blowing, she says it's really cold. She is needing some new clothes when she comes home. All the walking she has done has taken off just enough on her hips that her pants don't fit well. She's not unhappy about that, but said the other night, when she went to a farewell get-together with some of her friends, she had to borrow a belt to hold her pants up, and felt like a hobo. She's always been a great walker and hiker, but not so many people here get around by walking. In London, she has used her legs so much to get where she wants to go, and that has been a pleasure for her. She hasn't been taking the Tube often, but next year in Boston, it'll probably be back to using the subway.
Think I'll go to check on what ingredients I have to make SusieK's salmon casserole! hmmm that sounds interesting. Last night I made a huge salad with lots of nice crunchy veggies which DH loved, so if I sneak a little casserole in with it tonight he'll be OK with a casserole. Years of dealing with husbands makes us crafty, doesn't it? Talk to you later. Seren

That salmon casserole sounds so good, but DH does not like salmon. We've ordered out for pizza tonight....I couldn't get in a cooking mode....:)
Enjoy your evening....and don't forget....the sun will come out....soon! :)
Hugs, Shari
Can you believe I thought I had a can of salmon, and that's all I didn't have! I'll be set for this later in the week after I make a grocery run. So often I don't mind the actual preparing of a meal, it's just thinking of what to make that defeats me! Too many years of meal-planning!!
Maybe if we all think SUN real hard! LOL I bet June and July will be blue and sunny. We can last til then. Have a good evening. Seren
