My girls were here this afternoon and we dug out a bunch of pereniels in an area that I have to kill off to get rid of all the quack grass. It was sure a trip to have my girls here digging in the dirt. Reminded me of my sister and I digging up stuff from the home place. Neither one of them liked gardening but now that they both own homes they were happy to get some nice stuff for free. I am happy to give them to them as we are probably moving with in the year and this way I can get starts back from them. This week I will hit the area with roundup and leave it for the new owners to plant what they want. It will need tilling this fall.
A very quiet afternoon for me. DH is at an open house as he is every Sunday and other than digging some plants and watching the Twins game I am a bum today. Need that once in a while. Drew and a friend are fishing in his boat Dragonfly.
Drew is going through a tough time right now. He got one(1) speeding ticket back in March the only one he has ever gotten but because he is still on a probationary licence until he turns 19 in a couple of months they double the points and it was enough to have his driving privledges suspended for 6 months. He is livid as he could have fought the ticket due to some technicalities but since he actually was speeding it bothered his concience and just paid the fine. He truly is a good kid. It cost him his whole paycheck. We didn't know that the points would double or be enough to loose all his points and thus get his license suspended. It truly seems unfair but hopefully will be a wakeup call for him. I am only hopping it does not turn into a major depression episode for him. It is a bad time right now right when he is graduating and about to launch his boat building business. I guess anytime would be bad. So for a while until we get him an interum occupational license I will be his chauffer too. He has given so many rides to his friends, I hope they will be kind and help him through this. So far they have rallied round.
Always something in Contraryville isn't there?
Francine sure hope your friend will be OK. What a scary thing.
Time for me to get a little something done for today as a busy week follows. I will be emptying our travel trailer and prettying it up for sale. It is in very good condition so it should sell easily. Babe may get sold too eventually. I like her but wouldn't mind something smaller like a minivan. I will still need to haul kids here and there for a couple more years. By the time I will be able to get a car like BB's Little Eva I will be scared to drive it. But oh it would be nice to drive something smaller than Babe the Blue Ox.
Have a lovely Sunday evening and tomorrow is a clean slate for us to start a new week. May we all do our best to make it good and find joy and peace in it. MM

So you are having nice warm weather to? Don't you just love to plant things and see them grow. Here today it is about 75 and we have clear skys. It feels like summer is here.
I love to hear the birds sing late at night. They only chirp and sing at night during spring time then I think their vocal cords are shot or something because we don't ever hear the birds again late at night until next spring. We have had nice nights so I have been snoozing in the hammock and letting the night birds sing me to sleep.
Glad to hear your having a great day.... I am to.... talk to ya later...
Aloha,
Leilani
Oh my, what a project you have ahead!!
Glad your team is doing well. I never expect much from the KC Royals, they don't normally do very well and I'm not much of a baseball fan anyway.
That is too bad about Drew, but a very good lesson for him to learn the hard way. Hopefully those strict rules there will help slow down a lot of young drivers who are a menace on the roads. I don't mean that Drew is a menace, but lots of other's are.
Have a good week dear friend.....Susie
Hugs,

Where are you planning to go...gosh with all your lovely ponds and all the work you've put into them, how do you feel about leaving them.
I'm sorry to hear about Drew's problems, sometimes things like this can be a wake up call for them and sometimes they don't get the message at all. You never know how its going to go, but we will hope for the best. You're a good Mom, taking on the task of driving him around, something I would do myself.
Funny I was having a discussion with DD#1 the other day, she was having a bad day and was going on about Remy and how its always something with kids and how she guesses she had another ten years of this...I said you can plan on it being longer than that...when I was discussing this with my sister who's had her share this year with her boys who are in there 30's. she said "it ends when you close your eyes and die"
Take care of yourself...
Val
Poor Drew, he has had a tough year. Hope his friends will be there for him, as he has always been there for them. Hugs, BB
