I've been trying to catch up on some posts this morning. Sounds like most of you had a relaxing weekend and are ready to tackle the new week.

I have lots of work to do around the house this week. I think my parents are coming for a visit next weekend, and my guest room is still full of DD's things from college. Time for us to sort through it all and store it in the basement until time for her to go back to school in the fall.

Not much else going on here this morning. Looks like we might get more rain today.....grrrrr. The big American flag that hangs between my garage doors is starting to mold because of all the rain and the lack of sunshine. Wonder if I can wash it? Is that against flag "etiquette?" Do you think it would hold up okay in the washer? Hmmmmm.....

I'll be checking in later -- hope you all have a good week. Time for me to get busy....Hugs, BB

Good morning BB,

I know a worn out flag should be burned. I bet if you contact a VFW or American Legion post, or even the Boy Scouts they would have advice for you.

When I first came on board, I thought it was going to be a nice day. Now, the temp has gone down 2 degrees and the clouds are taking over the sky.

You have a good day. Kathey

BB there is a link on our "Et Cetera" page (under Informational Sites) about the American Flag!

Here is what that site says about cleaning the flag: "The life of your flag depends on your care. Dirt can cut fabrics, dull colors, and cause wear. Most outdoor flags can be washed in mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed. Indoor and parade flags should be dry-cleaned."
