Camper sites and one of them had a section about fixing problems they have had with their campers.....get this........

Am new to your site, but caught the question about "ant removal." Recently, we were invited to a cottage on Door County. Cupboards were full of ants. Another friend suggested an "old remedy." Cut the outside skin off a cucumber into slices & set around in the cupboards. Next morning -- no ants! It really works. If having the problem, try it.

I don't know if ants don't like salads or maybe they are like me and it makes them burp.....lol......who knows it might be the fix to get rid of them......lol Janet

Great idea, Janet.

We're usually invaded by ants once a year. It hasn't happened yet, but it's only a matter of time. We usually place ant cups in strategic spots but these can be toxic to children and pets, so we have to be careful.

Cuccumber peelings are a safe, non-toxic way to solve the problem. They're a good *0* point veggie, too! ;-)

Thanks for the suggestion.

One more things about the cucumber when the pealings dry I think they get crisp so put your hand down on them and crunch them and vacuume them up....how easy is that?......lol.Janet

I can just picture me up on a six-foot ladder with the Hoover upright vacuuming out my cupboards (lol). Kathey

Janet, every spring and summer, DD in NY has an ant problem. They are the tiny ants. I just called her and told her the "cucumber" story. It is worth a try.
