a question for Francine. Are you of french heritage and do you speak french? Just curious...! Thanks for the welcome to you and everyone who welcomed me. I think I'll slowly get to become more familiar with everyone as time goes on.

Non, je ne suis pas de descente française. Pas du tout! Mais j'étais un commandant français dans le collège et aime la langue.

That loosely means. No. I'm not of French descent. Not at all! But I was a French major in college and love the language.

Truthfully I've used the language so little in the last 36 years, that short paragraph is probably riddled with grammatical and spelling errors! LOL!

My member name ... Plus Chere Que Jamais ... is my Gemma's kennel name. And she is *more dear than forever*.

Bye for now.

Francine

PS And I said I was going to shake my tail feathers and get on the move. My hair is still wet! LOL! 11AM is fast approaching!!!

Thanks for the reply, Francine..most interesting that you were attracted to the language when it was not in your history. My mother was french Canadian and unfortunately I didn't get first-hand lessons in speaking french as a babe because my Dad is english-speaking and I was the 5th child in line and I think my mom just gave up trying to teach us french for some reason...We primarily all went to english schools and so my brothers and sister spoke english at home long before I came along.

However, I think hearing her speak french to her sisters and brothers and visiting my french relatives helped me to have a good enunciation in french when I began to learn it in school. Do you roll your "R's" Francine and all that? LOL! They say that even if you have not spoken it as a child but if you have been hearing it, that it is easier to learn those things such as rolling the R's and stuff like that. I thought you might be of french background too because your name is french...I have a cousin with that name. But you may say your name differently than she says hers....!

Have a good day, Francine,

Shirley :)
