Once the weather gets nice I like to exerise outside and we have been having the most wonderful weather, warm and sunny during the day and then it gets cool at night.

So I'm a little more than half way through and I'm at a point where there's a incline and I've come over the high point and am on other side when I suddenly trip...I think "oh crap" but I guess because I'm going downward the momentum takes me forward and now I'm falling...thank god I had long pants on but I still skinned my knees...I put my hands out and go down on my palms ouch, ouch..but I still kind of slide on my forearms and elbows...

I pick myself up and survey the damage...my forearms and elbows are bleeding and I've got scrapes and a chunk out of the heel of my hand, which is also bleeding. Ok I didn't break anything, so I start off again and get home...

I walk in the house and DH says what happened...then he looks at my elbows and hand and gets pale...I'm running water over my elbows and forearms, picking out gravel and he's got his head down on the kitchen counter...saying I feel lightheaded..

After I get myself all cleaned up I say to him kiddingly...Well I guess from your reaction to this little situation if I ever have a serious injury or am bleeding badly, I should just call 911 or go straight to the emergency room and call you when its over huh? He's never been good with these things, avoids hospital visits etc but I guess that's most men.

Thought I might be sore this morning but the sorest spot is the heel of my hand...I never realize how tough I am until something like this happens..

Hope everyone has a good day..I've got to get a move on, my nephew is coming by at 7, we have to drop his car off at the dealer and then I'm going out to breakfast with DH..

Oh Val, you are one funny, type A person!! lol

DH better watch out. I want you on my side. lol

Glad you didn't break anything. Those falls are embarrassing, but at least you were out exercising when you fell. Some of us could fall off the couch and get hurt.

Gosh Val that was scary. Glad you didn't hurt any thing vital like your head. Your cuts and scrapes sound nasty though. I imagine you will feel some trauma for a few days. Falling shakes up our whole bodies. Take it easy and let yourself heal. MM

Oh Val, please forgive me for the icon, but I honestey cackled out loud when you told of your DH's reaction. Men are such babies, aren't they?

Sweetie, you will probably be sore for a while. That sounded like a hard fall, and on the street too. You must have jarred your insides pretty badly. Thank goodness you were able to make it home okay. I have this fear of being out walking and falling down when no one is around and not being able to get up.

Take care of those wounds. I am so sorry you hurt yourself, but you will recover, for you are a WOMAN!...LOL!....Love, BB

Val, you are such a good writer. I can visualize this fall. I actually laughed out loud at your DH. You two have to be a set, you have to belong together. Has it always been this way, or did years together add to this match?

Val, so sorry that you skinned yourself up, but so glad you didn't break anything. That is such a helpless feeling when you know what is about to happen and you can't do anything about it. Do hope it all heals quickly and with no problems. Your DH sounds like my dad, he can't stand the sight of blood with wounds, gets real lightheaded, but yet he was a regular blood donor for the RC.

Enjoy your breakfast this morning and the rest of the day.

I am glad that you can get out of bed this morning without help......lol.......

Wish I could get out and just walk let alone jog. In Feb. I went out to scoop some ice that was melting off the sidewalk just outside the back door. I sat the scoop down turned and tripped over the darn thing. Came down on the my palms and my right chin. Within a week the bruises on my palms were going but my shin just swelled and noting could touch it not pants, sheet or wind blowing on it. About 6 weeks later I could kind of touch it but all that time it was numb. Today, it feels like there is a hotdog laying just under my skin from just to the right of my kneecap down toward the inside of my calf. And it is still sore and numb.

I did go to the doctor but at the time he couldn't hardly touch it and he told me in so many words ....you have a bump get over it.

I guess it wouldn't bother so much except when my one brother we 9 he was at school jumping hurdles and caught one with his shin. It was sore but never bruised. Months later it was hurting so bad that mom took him to the doctor for x-rays. It had bruised the bone and the bone was,I don't know if it was just disolving or rotting around the bruise...They did surgery on him and he was in a cast and a tube coming out of there to drain it all the time. That was for months. He went from this puny little kid to this fat little kid. It was not a fun time for him. When he was able to he started running and playing basketball and by the time he entered highschool he looked good...

Well, my son from IN.will be here tomorrow so I should get something done.......Janet

Is your DH related to mine? That sounds like something mine would say!!!!

But the BIG question is this? Did anyone see you??? I am horrified when someone see me do something like that!:) Like the time I fell down a flight of stairs at school and my whole class was watching!! Ouch! (both mentally and physically!) LOL

Take care of yourself today....

Hugs, Shari

I hope your ouies are all gone. I'm surprised there are so many male doctors the way men react to blood and pain. Kathey
