Where is everyone?

I've been out and about, running errands in the rain. Went to Kohl's and found the cutest pillows for my Pine bench seat, at my kitchen table. They are red, white and blue -- stars, checks, stripes -- very patriotic looking for the upcoming holidays, and they match my kitchen very well too! And.....they were on sale!

So that was my fun for the day, finding new pillows...;-).

Despite the rain, we are grilling hamburgers outside tonight. I picked up a great smelling cantaloupe at the fruit stand, and I think I will bake some Vidalia onions. Yes, they are in the stores again!

That's an update on my day. What are the rest of you doing?

See you all later tonight........BB

Hey, BB, I just got home and of course the first thing that I had to do was check the e-mail and then The Garden. Today was my day to work at the church. We give Bibles to the graduating Seniors so made the announcement cards to sent each of the Seniors that we will be doing this at the 11:00 service on June 1st, the day after the Graduation Ceremony. Which means I get to read off the names of the Seniors, they come forward and then Father will present them with the Bible. Hopefully they will attend that service.

I need to see what I can get accomplished this evening before chat. I think I will make up a pot of veg.soup. I still need to do something with all the veggies from the platters from Sat. evening. I bagged when I got home Sat. night and put them in the fridge but haven't gotten to cooking or blanching them for freezing yet. I saw a recipe for veg. soup in a magazine the other evening that had sweet potato in it too, I need to see if I can find that one again, thought it sounded interesting. I bought a vidalia onion yesterday to put in the salsa I thought I would make with the cherry tomatoes from the platters. Last year I baked a couple after you talked about them...very good!!! I haven't bought a cantalope yet...the price is still too high for me yet. I have been pigging out on strawberries while the price is down on them. LOL

C U in chat later.

Hello BB! Just taking a quick glance through the garden, and noticed that you and I are having a similar day. DD got in last night, and off we dashed today to start the shopping. First place we went was Kohl's where we got almost everything she's needing for her professional and summertime look, at half price!!! Gee, we should've stayed longer and checked out their shoes, but we were so proud of ourselves, and hungry, that we were halfway home before we remembered...So lunch and back out again, to Target, Tuesday Morning, and the grocery store before we gave out alltogether. Kohl's was the success story though; Target just didn't do it for us today, except for a few shampoo and deodorant sorts of things. We're having balsamic chicken tonight, but I just cut up 4 Vidalia onions to go in it, and soon as I can get a little energy up, it's back to the cutting board to get our cantaloupe ready for dinner. See the similarities? So, if we lived closer, I would just say we should have gone shopping together, and cooked our dinners together. A lot of fun, and half the work. It's that 4-hour drive between here and there that puts a kink in the plans.

So, I will give you an update on the 2 new cats moving into our 1 dog and 1 cat household: cats are veeeeerrry quiet, Maggie is mostly quiet, but just sits and stares into DD's bedroom where the kits are stashed. We put one of those child-proofing devices (a gate) on DD's door, so cats can come and go, and Maggie can only look. Once in a while she has to bark at them. There were a couple of rough moments last night. DH worked til 9:30 last night, and when he got in, he immediately gave DD a huge hug...well, this broke Maggie's jealous little heart. She sat up on her hind legs and just cried and howled, which only encouraged DH to keep the hug going just to watch Maggie's show.

So that's my day, and I do need to cut up the fruit. May not make it to Chat tonight. Hey, you know it's the final of Amer Idol, which I haven't watched until the last show or two. Both those guys are so good, and I hope they both get good careers started off this. Hope things are settling down with you and your loved ones. Seren

Good late afternoon, BB. I haven't done anything since getting home from work. I sat down on the couch to take my shoes off and just work up (lol). CU at chat, maybe. Kathey
