Dear Bugs, sorry I have not been able to visit these boards just lately. I've had 2 presentations and a million (no not quite) assignments to finish. My presentations went well, I think. Haven't had any feed back yet. The multicultural one, I had fun with. Bought a packet of chocolate eclairs and gave them to the kids who answered correctly. I had to talk about how our media treats our indiginous people. Had trouble finding a video or other info on some of our best athletes. Felt sure that would have been easy, but no, near impossible. Had also to write para on war, asylum seekers, etc. I wrote that although I don't agree with locking children up, if they are taken out of the detention centres, that splits the family, and if they are left with the parents, that contravenes the Childrens Rights. Teacher ignored that one, didn't fit with her idea that Australia is a very racist nation. We all think she's almost a reverse racist if there is such a thing...still only 2 more classes to go and I've finished. I will not be going for the last class because that is the evaluation. I really might say something I would regret!!!!

Other than that, I've passed the Social Policy essay, now have to wait for feed back on presentation (Child Abuse)..perhaps I'm getting paranoid, but just this week there have been some good series shows on TV with this theme. Has helped with my presentation. I'm still trying to get my head around how any one could abuse a child. Some of the things we say on a video were horrendous.

Now I just have an essay on Multicultural issues and an Orgs & Change essay, and I've finished for the semester...then Holidays!!!!!! Looking forward to that...4 weeks off.

So, All, Hope all is well up there, take care

Lesley.

PS I will let you know how I went with my Psych essay on 'The secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood'...Princess Young Bird...lol...

Hi Lesley, I enjoyed reading about your presentations. Are you studying to be a teacher or social worker? You know I am a retired teacher, so I'm interested in your theories.

Also wanted to tell you that my DD loved Australia when she was there in Jan. She is planning on going back next year.

Stop by more often when your vacation begins...ok?

Hugs,Shari

TWIN!! So good to see your post. You do sound busy and so smart. I really admire you for getting an education at our age. I think my brain would rebel. Everything here in Contraryville is status quo. Crazy most days but lovable. Drew had his drivers license suspended for 6 months for 1 speeding ticket in nearly 3 years of driving. Doesn't seem fair but it is the law. He is not liking it one bit. We are in the process of getting him an occupational license now. He is being very stubborn and hard to deal with. I don't blame him as it couldn't have come at a worse time, right when he is graduating and starting his boat building business. We are having a nice spring here and looking forward to a lovely summer too. Hope it is cooling down down under for you I know how you hate the heat. Have a good day and keep us posted on your essay. MM your twin.
