Today while trying to mop

The kitchen floor, my back screaming at me and I probably made it worse because it really needs hands and knees scrubbed. I have desided that I am going to have to have someone come in and get it for me. I told DH that I might as well get the painting done that way too. I can get the walls but the ceiling just wasn't going to happen. And I don't think while you were out would do the whole house even if I paid for it....lol......

I can't believe a friend suggested to get a swiffer......I pulled one of those out of the box in the store and it amounts to doing your dusting by blowing on it....It would never hold up to me.......lol...and I could never get anything clean by doing it from that far above....

I think DS1 will be here sometime this afternoon. And I know since it is cool he is going to say something like..... "Mom would there be any homemade chicken noodle soup in my future?" lol.......Janet

Take care of that back Janet. How exciting you will soon be getting to enjoy DS1 and his family. Chicken noodle soups sounds good!!!

I got a package of the wet swifter or wet pledge sheets as I am not sure right now with out going to the cupboard to look which brand I have. Anyway the wet sheets don't mop a very large space. I thought with the boys and the drips they make getting something to drink from the fridge this would be a quick answer. But not worth all the bother of getting them out and on for the small amount of floor they will mop before they are dry. I do like the dry sheets for the floor, works better than the broom catching the dog and cat hair.

I like Swifter dry for my wood floors, works very well. I haven't tried the wet Swifters yet, but want to get some for my bathroom floors. I have a friend who has a large kitchen and swears by the Swifter wet for her tile floor. She loves them. I don't think they're any smaller than a sponge mop. I normally do the down on the floor on hand and knees too, but can't do that anymore. It's the aging body thingie ya know..LOL!!.....Susie

Janet, I agree, pay someone to come in and do the floor for you, then you can keep it up yourself, once it is well scrubbed.

I have one of the dry mop thingies, (Grab It, I think) and I love it, but I bought one package of the wet ones, and was very disappointed in them. Like Pab said, I found that they only do a small area, and they dry out very quickly.

Take care of that back, you don't want to be down for a few days.

I know you are excited about seeing your DS. Enjoy.......BB

I hope you didn't miss the opportunity when your son was there to get your floor mopped by a loving, caring, hungry son.

I've seen the Swrifter on TV ads only. They don't demonstrate it on floors with a dropped peanut butter sandwich or egg that spashes on the floor.

Good Morning Janet...

Got to agree with you...all these "cleaning items" seem like just another way for someone to get money.

Don't see the difference between these "wet mops' and a regular sponge mop except that you are going to throw away the mop part and keep replacing it with another one each time you use it. Its like the "duster cloths" you're talking about..what's the matter with the good old dust rag...

My entrance hall, kitchen and laundry room floor all run together and a couple of years agoI replaced the vinyl floor with ceramin tile....best thing I ever did. With all the traffic I get and the two dogs in and out its much easier to keep clean.

Enjoy your visit with DS...
