Good Morning Ladies.....

Well here we are at the official start of the summer. Back when the snow was on the ground had thought of making plans to spend this weekend somewhere out on the east end..never got around to it and now I'm very glad I didn't. Nothing more dismal, than a weekend at the beach when it's raining.

Spent the day helping DD start packing for her move....the girl has "stuff". I'm always amazed at how much like DH she is and there is no blood ties. He's another "saver"..makes me crazy sometimes....I'll admit I have some things from the kids childhoods but for me if I haven't used it or worn it in a year it gets "red flagged"...another year and its gone.

Will be doing more packing with her today and tomorrow. as well as moving some stuff to the new place.

Monday I'm working....we've got a new "second assistant mgr" and got to tell you this "dude" will not be around long. His name is Storm...what are some people thinking when they name their kids...can already see from one day with him..that he thinks his job is to "walk around shuffling papers". We got a shipment in, not a big one about forty boxes and he started to open them and then walked away and left it sitting there. Shauna (the assistant mgr) and I finished the job. She agrees with me he won't last, we have a nice group there now and everyone pitches in to get things done...there's no room for someone like him....we've had someone like that there before and causes problems when you have one person who feels certain things are beneath them....I have a feeling once he finds out how much responsibility is involved in the job he'll be gone. For some reason certain individuals think anytime the title "manager" is involved it means they don't have to do much but when it come to retail that just isn't the case. That's exactly what happened to the last assis't mgr and I recently found out this guy is a good friend of hers. When I asked Shauna what this guys background was, she told me he worked for Waldenbooks in the same mall we were are in and that they kept promising him a management position but never gave it to him....hummm interesting...he was "in charge of stock"

Shanua has already told Angie (our manager) how she feels about this guy and I've already decided how I'll handle him...I don't think he realizes, even remotely that this is a team effort and if you're not part of the team...you're on your own. It's hard enough being the only male but once you piss off the ladies you're in deep trouble.

Well I hope everyone gets to enjoy some part of the weekend and to those of you who have some sun...send a little our way please.

Good Morning, Val. Happy Memorial Weekend. Happy Packing...

Think we are going to have a decent day here, yesterday's rain has moved on out over the water. They were saying that there may be isolated thunderstorms the next couple of days. This will make the tourists happy.

Good luck with your new "second assistant mgr". Know you "ladies" will get him in shape...or he will decide to move on.

Hi! Happy Saturday! I have a packrat too.(DH) He keeps things I know he'll never use or try to use.

That guy at work is a big jerk! I hope for your sake, he doesn't last. Types like him rarely do. I've seen them come and go on stores I've worked in.

So sorry you dont have any sun. Try to think sunny thoughts.

You have that right. Once you tee off the ladies you

work with you are in big trouble!!

Hope that situation settles down for you.

Even though its cool and rainy, I hope you enjoy your

weekend.

Hugs,

Fran

LOL, I foresee funny "Storm" stories in our future. Thanks, Val, I love hearing tales of the ins and outs of the candle business.. I agree, this guy is going to in and out of the manager position in no time.

Good luck with the move this weekend, and Happy Memorial Day!.....BB
