Whoopeee! Summer vacation is finally here. Shelby is out of school, and I get to follow my own schedule. I am so happy.

We have no plans for tomorrow, except that I might grill some chicken for the girls and me. My mom will probably do something else for herself and my dad.

My friend Harriet and I went to a new warehouse club named BJ's. It is just like Sam's, but the best thing about it is it is very close to where I live. The closest Sam's is quite a bit away. I acutally had to go there and pick up the cake for the 5th grade dance/party on Friday. I could not find it, but thanks to a quick call to that special Ladybug BB, I was able to retrieve the cake. Thanks BB, you really saved me. Anyway, I think that I will join the new club.

Well, I hope that you will all enjoy this holiday weekend. Please be safe. I will check back in later. Think I will find some good old movies to watch until it's time for the Braves game to start. I must ask Tami what time.

See y'all later.

Dannie

Good morning, girlfriend! Glad you found Sam's the other day. After you hung up, I realized that I should have told you it was just south of the Big Chicken -- that way you would have known exactly where it was. Anyway, I hope my directions helped get you there and I hope the cake was good. I have looked at their decorated cakes before and they look delicious.

Glad you have a BJ's near you now. I have heard it's a nice store.

Happy Memorial Day to you and all your family, Dannie! And......GO BRAVES!!!....Love, BB

Yes, that is cause for celebration! Now tell me, Dannie, do the 5th graders actually dance at this party or do they just run around acting silly? Our school tried having a dance for the 5th graders once....notice I said once! LOL

Enjoy your day.

Funny you should ask that, Shari. They kids all gathered in the middle of the floor of the gymnasium and it looked much like a football huddle. Then, every once and a while they would break away and demonstrate a new dance move. One young man put on a very impressive display of somersaults and back flips. And they would run around acting silly. But no, they did not dance with each other. Some of the other parents were disappointed. But not I. Oh no. I figure that I can wait for the day when they can't be kept apart on the dance floor or anyplace else. So if they don't want to dance with members of the opposite sex, especially slow dance, that's fine with me.

They had fun. The cake was beautiful and delicious. We also had submarine sandwiches, dill pickles, potato chips, and punch. The dance lasted only two hours, and then we had to clear out of the gym.
