Good morning! How's everyone today? I've been to church already and have just a few items on my *to do* list to accomplish. The Pig Roast was lots of fun. Lots of food, besides the pig. But in the middle of the night, I had an allergy attack...couldn't breathe...was really scary. I guess it was because I had walked to our neighbor's house through the woods. Guess the pollen is really bad. The doctor had told me that even if you are outside for a little while, it collects on your hair, then when you go to bed you breathe it in. Even though I have started the allergy shots, it will take a few weeks before they really start taking full effect. (So don't worry, Pab. By the time I get to Savannah, I should be ok...I don't want you worrying that I'll wake you up in the middle of the night! :)

I'm cooking a turkey today and will also make some potato salad. DS and his GF will be here until tomorrow.

Take care.

Love, Shari

Shari, sorry you are having such a horrible time with allergies.

Which way are you making the potato salad? I have never used a written recipe for making it. It has always been a taste test method. I use the same ingredients, but different amounts for different types of potatoes.

Shari...so sorry that you had an allergy attack during the night...at first I thought you were going to tell us you discovered you were allergic to the pork. ;o) Don't worry about waking me up in the middle of the night...I'm use to that with DS still home. Sometimes I wake up with all this commotion going on at the other end of the house, when I go investigate it is DS in the kitchen, fixing something to eat or digging for something.

Hugs...Pab

Hi, Brenda...I learned to make potato salad from my mother and there isn't a recipe. I make it by taste too. One thing I do do is always use red potatoes...cause that is what she used. I have never tried it with different potatoes.

That attack sounds scary. I have all sorts of allergies, so I carry a handy benadryl emergency kit with me. Two christmases ago, my DGD's DH had a friend who owns a pizza place, roast a couple of small pigs for Christmas dinner in one of the large brick ovens. The kids wouldn't eat the meat because they kept saying it was piglet or babe. Lots of screaming and tears, so I was able to take a lot of leftovers home. LOL

Hope you're feeling better by now, Shari.

DH cooked a turkey on the smoker yesterday, and boy, is it good! Nothing like a good turkey sandwich.

Enjoy your holiday......Love, BB
