I was on earlier and had to get off because of yet another storm. I am a little tired of the rain, everything is soaked. We had a storm in the middle of the night last night which set off my alarm system for some reason. It took a while for me to get back to sleep. Do you know how many stations have paid programing in the middle of the night. : ) I finally found an old movie which sent me back to sleep.

Was anyone else watching the lady golfer? I was pulling for her and think she handled her cut gracefully.

BB and Susie, thank you for the hints with the WW cake recipe. I haven't tried it again yet, but I will. I want it to work for it does taste very good.

My family and I spent last Thursday is Winston-Salem on what must be "shoppers street". We went to Hanes Mall which is huge itself and then for the next 2 miles is every chain restaurant and store that you can think of including a Sams and a Costco within a half mile or so of each other. Actually, we really didn't shop that much, we were just together. We did get to a movie that afternoon. The theater was almost full and no kids.

I am a little nervous today for tomorrow night I am one of 12 retirees in our system being honored at a retirement dinner. My 2 DSs and DDIL are coming as well as my DGD. We had planned that she would stay at a sitters, but in talking with the superintendent's secretary who is in charge of the todo, she said to bring her. Now that really makes me nervous. I am taking a new travel kit with us which has the markers which only show on special paper. Hope that will entertain her if she gets restless. Pat, this is always a well catered meal, too, but I will be too nervous to enjoy it.

Kacee, I mowed part of my yard yesterday. Most of it was too wet then. It will be a jungle when I can get to it. I saw you and BB and Lynda posting about putting out plants. It has been too wet all spring to plant anything here.

Hope, did you find something interesting to read? Hope you are feeling better.

Kathey, I wish I lived nearby. I would bring hot dogs and coffee. Have a good

celebration.

Dannie, I had not heard of BJs. Now I will have to find the closest one. All of a sudden I am into the big shopping and I only have myself and visiting kids to shop for. Something is wrong there.

We have a lot of bugs having a holiday. Good for them, but they are missed.

Keep good thoughts that I won't trip on stage tomorrow night. And HAGE.

Bren- enjoy your retirement affair. You have earned it. DGD will be fine. We are having a retirement dinner for our chairperson. Sheis only 50, but has decided to do something different. Maybe go into publishing. She wants to make a clean break while she can. It 's at an Italian restaurant near the college. Hope I am feeling better by then.

I am reading Coming Home by Rosamunde Pilcher, a scottish author. I also got a nice book= Meeting God in Quiet Places by Lagard Smith " inspiring parables drawn from his daily walks through the magnificent Cotswolds, British countryside."

Sorry about all that rain,

Hope

Bren, you will be your usual charming and graceful self, and you will be fine. If you feel yourself getting nervous, take a couple of deep breaths. It sounds like it will be a lovely evening.

I'm planning to make that WW cake sometime soon. I started to make it yesterday, but the kids asked for a white cake with fudge icing, and welllll.......

We finally dried out enough today for DH to plow my little garden. I have the veg. plants all ready to plant tomorrow or Tuesday, at the latest. And wouldnt' you know it, just this evening, the rain has returned. Grrrrr......Hope it doesn't mess up our plans for tomorrow.

DH watched the lady golfer, and was very impressed with her, not only her playing ability, but the fact that she was such a gracious young lady. A real class act.

Have a good Memorial Day, and a wonderful retirement celebration tomorrow night....Love, BB

Good Morning Brenner....

I'm sure everything will go very nicely for you tonight and it will be also be nice to have your DGD there. Just relax and enjoy it..let someone else worry..tonight is your night

Things is Wilson where my daughter is have certainly grown over the years...they now have all these restaurants and stores..I remember when she first moved down there and Denny's and the Golden Corral were the "thing"

We have been having rain for the better part of the past week...I had to take one of the planters and put it under the overhang so it wouldn't get any wetter. Some of the pansies were getting mold on them. Of course with all this rain and the cool weather the lawn looks beautiful....

Well I've gotta go....remember relax and have a great time tonight.
