We are going to have a quiet Memorial Day today, unless something unexpected happens. Otherwise, we will just take it easy.

I watched the Memorial Day concert on PBS last night. It was very moving. I ran across a picture of my DH in his uniform, so when they got to the part about Viet Nam, I felt very touched. He was a part of the 1968 Tet offensive, and the stories that were told on the show had particular meaning.

Anyway, I am off to find a late breakfast since I slept late. Yeah. This is wonderful.

Have a great and safe holiday everyone,

Dannie

(((hugs to you))) on thie Memorial Day, Dannie. My DH was also in Viet Nam in 1968, the year after we were married. I'm sorry I missed that show. I wonder if it will be on again tonight?

Enjoy your day of doing nothing....

Love, Shari

Dannie- I thought the concert was very good too. DF was in WWII and Korea. It was Korea which I remember. He came back having had frostbite, so when the program showed the Korean memorial of the statues covered with snow, I cried a little. Apparently, someone forgot to put in the order in Washington for appropriate winter clothing , so not only did the soldiers face death from the enemy; but had to go into battle without winter wear.
