Francine and FlyLady would be proud! Decided that today would be a good day to clean out the mudroom. First I took all the jackets, coats, hats, & gloves out of the closet and put everything that did not get worn during the winter in a big pile to be given away. Then I cleaned under the mudroom sink. I really did the 27 fling boogie under there!

We're having London Broil for dinner. Haven't had that in ages.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day. Let's all take a moment to say a prayer of thanks to all of those brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Hugs to all,

Shari

Wow, Shari, that's some very impressive cleaning you're doing!! I'm impressed and, maybe??!!, inspired to do some flinging myself! LOL Being here on my own, my time is mine for these days, and I hope to "get cracking" but manana...LOL Today has been rest and recovery.

Now a question: I have always heard of London Broil, but what exactly is it? Maybe I know it by another name. Is it a way of preparing a certain cut of meat? I feel as though I should know this, so you must tell me!

Memorial Day means a lot to all of us this year, don't you think? It's a beautiful thought, to take time out of our lives to remember people who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Enjoy your London Broil. Seren

Seren, in answer to your question: BARBECUED FLANK STEAK OR LONDON BROIL (to be fancier):)

Here's the recipe I'm using:

3/4 c. vegetable oil

1/3 c. soy sauce

3 tbsp. honey

3 tbsp. red wine vinegar

2 tsp. ground ginger

1 green onion, chopped

1 lg. garlic cloves, crushed

1 (1 1/2 lb.) flank steak or London broil, trimmed and scored

Combine first 7 ingredients. Place meat in large marinade dish and pour marinade over. Cover and refrigerate overnight, turning steak twice.

Prepare barbecue. Grill meat to desired doneness, 4 to 5 minutes per side for rare (best for London Broil). Slice into thin strips across grain and serve.

Thanks, Shari, that sounds like a great marinade. Think I'll look for a good flank steak and plan on having that sometime soon. I'm so used to doing chicken and I think maybe it's time to branch out just a little! Thanks for sharing, Shari! Seren

Amen -Shari. I missed not going to the Memorial Ceremony today or putting out the flag because of the heavy rain. But, just spent some minutes in silence.
