I'm sorry some of your picnics will have to be indoors. Also that I couldn't attend the Memorial Day parade here.I did see the Memorial Concert last night on tv, and thought it was very nicely done. Prayers for all those women who have lost dear ones in this latest conflict.

I have been on the phone a lot. My df in Fl wants me to come down next week. I made a tentative reservation, and just might take her up on her offer. We've known each other for a long time. She introduced me to dh, so I know he feels comfortable at her place.

I've been reading Coming Home and Shell Seekers by R. Pilcher. A neighbor gave me a lovely book by La Guard Smith- Meeting God in Quiet Places. It is a collection of "parables drawn from his daily walks through the magnificent Cotswalds= beautiful English countryside."

This book led me to view the Beatrix Potter videos which I purchased during her anniversary celebration and had not seen. Beautifully done, and I do still love those stories. After I finish them, they will go off to my DGN.

DS' GF made a delicious dessert for us- sort of apple crumb tart. She used granny smith apples sauteed in butter; crust was grapenut flakes mixed with some french cassis; the apples and crust were baked ,and then served with whipped cream.

Crock pot stew for today. Not much work there. Now for the real problem. I need to finish grading some term papers because grades are due tomorrow. It is going to be a challenge grading papers while on my back. Oh, I think I forgot to mention that my back gave out on me Friday night. Terribly painful. Going to the accupuncturist tomorrow am.

All in all , I am not in bad spirits. I think this was the body saying to me "Slow Down, please." I hope to fine by the end of the week.

Oh, Hope, now I see what's going on in your day. You do have books, videos, good food (any dessert left? lol), an invitation to mull over...you're OK. You will be fine by the end of the week. You just need to get your back all mended, and a little nurturing wouldn't be a bad thing. Unfortunately, you're the main nurturer, aren't you? Well, I'm sending you some mental images of me tucking you comfortably into your bed or easy chair, whatever you want, and fetching you anything and everything you want for a while, all with a smiling face....hmmmm what else do we mothers give when we pamper?? lol Sorry it's not the *real* thing, but it's the best I can do!
