Well, I didn't even come close to winning the tennis tournament this year. Out of 24 people, I came in 8th or 9th, I think. Oh well, it was fun anyway, and I got some good exercise.

I've been reading the posts, and I see that many of you have rain. Grrrr....sorry about that.

Hope, I'm glad you are resting today, and glad that you are obeying your body's demands that you slow down. Don't know about you, but slowing down is very hard for me to do, but necessary sometimes. By the way, The Shell Seekers is one of my favorite books. I have enjoyed reading a lot of books by Rosamund Pilcher, but now I can't recall the names of the others I have read. If you like her, check out Anne Rivers Siddons. Start with Peachtree Road, and go from there. I think you will like her. Her writing style and subject matter are very similar to RP's.

Lynda, I sure do hope that the doctors can find what is wrong with Jenn and can correct it easily and quickly. That poor woman has been through enough already.

Susie, Dannie, Wren, Lanie, Shari, Marielle......and everyone else.......have a wonderful Memorial Day. I need to start cutting up fruit now for my contribution to the cookout tonight. Then I want to do a couple more things outside, then get cleaned up and go to the party. I will check in later.

Hugs to bugs (I miss Karen...:-(...).......BB

Coming in 8th or 9th of 24 players sounds pretty good to me! Imagine how 23 and 24 must be feeling! Glad the weather is cooperating with you; here it has been partly sunny/partly cloudy, a nice enough day. There is a 10 K race here today and the weather was fine for that; the DDs used to run that, but now that they're never here I don't pay too much attention to it. It used to be mostly for local/regional runners, as was our big marathon, but now it's gone international, and the winners tend to be Kenyans, or Russians, no one I know personally!

My mother loved Rosamunde Pilcher books, but I don't think I've ever gotten around to reading one. I should give one a try. I'm trying to think of the woman who wrote Tara Road and Circle of Friends, can't pull up the name. I'm wondering if Pilcher books are similar, because I do enjoy those books. You will see, having a conversation with me is very much this way: I can never think of the correct names, or the punch lines, or the words I want to use. Uhhh duhh inarticulate is the one that usually fits me!

Fruit salad and a grilled hamburger sound mighty good to me! I'm going to be living on leftovers for the next few days. I planned and prepared nice dinners every day DD was here, and DH only made it home for one of them because he was working late. So now I have no need to cook which is nice. I always have fruit salads during the spring and summer, but that's his favorite, so there's only a bit of melon and pineapple remaining. I am being so incredibly lazy! It's almost intoxicating to have *no* people relying on me for the moment....it's entirely tooooo easy for me to fall into worthlessness! LOL

Enjoy the food and the fellowship tonight, BB! Seren

That would be Maeve Binchey who wrote those books, Seren, and yes, RP is very much like her in style and content.

Go ahead and be worthless, and don't feel one bit guilty about it. It's your first day with no responsibilities -- enjoy it. Love, BB

Too bad about your weather, Wren, but I hope you have a nice day anyhow. Too bad the parade got cancelled.

I agree, we should all take the time today to remember all those who have given their lives for our country. I am thankful for all of them too.

See you later! Have a good evening.....BB

Hi BB Between the fruit salads and the London broil and the cheesecake and etc.

YOU have me thinking of freezing some of my fruits from the salads and making a sorbet for later on...

Well it was a really wet one today, BUT thats ok I did get the red, white and blue sugar cookies done for the day so it turned out pretty well anyway...

Kt will be home soon and she sure will have some to Tell and I can't wait to hear about her mountain climbing...

Well YOU have a Happy and Restful night.... wren
