So happy I see the sun!!!

Good Morning all, yes we have sun this morning...don't know if it will be around long but for now the skies are looking promising.

Yesterday was a total wash...weather wise, it just poured most of the day and when it wasn't pouring it was drizziling..didn't mind being at work at all. While the day started off slowly, by early afternoon we were really busy and I always enjoy that...Had the opportunity to work with "Storm" yesterday and I'm trying to keep an open mind...my DH says "this guy doesn't have a prayer...you ladies are tough". So I just watched and listened...he's not comfortable making small talk, so he comes off sounding like he's reading from a cue card..he's got this macho thing going...dressed all in black..lots of gold jewelry...he just seems uncomfortable, told me his friends are making fun of him because he's working at a candle store...he kept asking people if they wanted to hear our "specials". He also keeps calling the "votives".."voltives". And the other thing was he reeked of garlic...if I knew him better or longer I would have said something to him.

He had a few problems yesterday...Angela (our mgr) had left him a note telling him to go to the bank and take out the garbage...these things are done in the hour that he's there before the store opens...he didn't do either of them..when she called to see how things were going, she wasn't happy to hear he hadn't taken care of things...he was waiting on a customer and when he got off the phone with her, he turned to the customer and says that was my boss...she's mad at me....I screwed up this morning.

Then a customer came in with a return and he couldn't remember how to do it and got upset because I didn't know the procedure...I told him sales associates don't handle returns...his reply was "well that will have to change". I told him it was company policy, not store policy. He finally called Angela at home and she walked him through it...now my question is...why wouldn't you write these things down when you're learning them?

We have another new "second assistant", you'd think we were a Mega store with all this management but as I explained to my DH...the place is open seven days a week from 10 Am until 9 PM and they want someone with "mgr" somewhere in their title and they don't want anymore than two people who are "full time"..so we have all these "second assistants".

I wish I could be there this morning...Storm is opening again but they have him on with Diane and while she's a lot of fun and an older woman, she's kind of dizzy.

I thought it was me but when the one of the younger girls came in yesterday and saw Storm was there..she looked at me and rolled her eyes...I said "what's the matter"...she said I don't like him...he makes me uncomfortable...he's a jerk and he smells. And DH thought I was tough..

Well I have things to do today and then I'm working again tomorrow..DH is suppose to go upstate for a few days and I'm looking forward to some alone time.

Hope you all are well and having a good day.

Val

Beautiful sun today. Don't they give them some training before giving them the "title"?

OMG, I have such a clear picture of this guy in my head. I've got a feeling Storm isn't going to be in the voLtive business for very long....LOL! Keep us updated, Val, this is good stuff. Poor guy, in a way, I feel sorry for him. But I can't believe he would say what he said to the customers, and that he didn't write down how to handle a return. Geez.....

Glad you have sun today. Enjoy!....BB

Hi Val! I also see sun today. Don't you just love it?

That guy is a jerk with a capital J. Hopefully he'll be gone soon.

I love candles. I'm especially fond of aroma therapy ones and there's a company called Yankee that I like real well. I usually buy votives and small jar candles most of the time.

Have a good one!

You know even though we have had the sun the last few days it was kind of cloudy but it was a gloomy high gray haze it is hard to explain but to say the sky has looked funny. Foggy in the morning and cold at night. From what I can see that is going to change shortly. They say maybe a high in the 80s today......I think 70s are just perfect, but no one listens to me....lol.....enjoy your sun....Janet
