I see that Hope is laying in bed keeping her feet up too and I wonder why. Sure hope it is nothing serious. Feel better both of you.
We had the most beautiful 4 days weather wise that anyone could ask for. Cool evenings but warming to the high 70s low 80s during the day. We arrived at our little house by the creek about 3 on Friday and imediately went to settling in while Drew and Charlie put the boat in the creek and went adventuring. It was out with the old bed and in with the new and unpacking the little of this and that we brought up with us. We ended up leaving the bed that came in the house in the porch for company instead of bringing it home for storage. DH and I went to the grocery store and had a little supper then we sat around the campfire before going to bed exhausted but happy. I even slept in on Saturday morning a while then my sister and hubby and 2 grandsons came to visit. We had our breakfast out on the picnic table while the little ones 'fished' in the creek. We all took a walk around the park and it was like being at a carnival or fair. There were hundreds of people everywhere, kids/adults on bikes, swimming, tubing, riding golf carts, playing on the playgrounds, craft sales, yard sales, walking around visiting and enjoying the beautiful weather. My sister jokingly said to her husband, "We had better go home so we can have some peace and quiet." The boys took off on the creek again and we settled in for some relaxation. DH puttered around fixing this and that. We met several of our neighbors and were welcomed to the 'community'.
Later that day my brother and one of his boys came too. His wife and 3 of the children had gone to California and the 2 older boys were visiting thier mother so he only had one with him. He and the 3 boys will join the rest of the family in California on Thursday for 2 weeks. They have a family wedding and graduation to attend there. We sat around the campfire and had grilled burgers and hotdogs. Nummy. On Sunday we attended our religious meeting in town and met some very nice friendly people and some old friends. We stopped at a couple of stores then headed back to the campground. After lunch I took a nap. Can you imagine that? I never do that. It felt good. My brother came and took Drew and Charlie to his favorite fishing lake. They caught several large bass and so we cooked them up for a late supper around the campfire again. I don't like fish but was told they were delicious. We froze some for later.
Monday morning I went into town to replenish some groceries for our day on the lake. We met my Dsis & DbroIL at the boat landing at 10. We took their pontoon boat out for a tour around Lake Wissota. It is a gogeous lake formed by daming the mighty Chippewa River and it is 15 miles long and 3 miles wide. Gorgeous homes and scenery all along the shore. In the movie Titanic Leonardo di Caprio tells what's her name that she shouldn't jump overboard because the water will be so cold and he knows what it feels like because he fell into the water once while ice fishing on Lake Wissota in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. The interesting thing is that they did not dam the Chippewa River until 3 years after the Titanic sunk. Big Ooops.
We left the lake and traveled up the river for a ways. Beautiful rock and cliff formations that reminded me of the Dells further south in Wisconsin. My brothers 3 boys and Drew and Charlie were casting and fishing but never caught a thing except a couple of trees and a dock or two. We cooked hotdogs right on board the pontoon and had soda, chips and treats for lunch. We stopped at a lake side restaurant so Roger could use the facilities and he came back with Margaritas for the adults. MMMMMMM MMMMMM Good! Only in Wisconsin can you get ligour to go. Blew the diet for sure but we had a wonderful time. We got back to our campgrounds at 3 and remembered that Drew had an assignment to tour the Leinenkuegals Brewery for his economics class. We went in and got on the last tour. It was very interesting. The Jacob Leinenkuegals Brewery is famous and the largest 'craft' brewery in the world. Drew had chosen it as his company to follow because of it's history (started in 1867) and economic effect in the area. After that we cleaned up and left our little house in tip top shape and came home. The campground seemed like a ghost town. Only a few people left quietly enjoying yet another beautiful evening. We hated to leave but duty calls and here we are back at home. Almost time to take the children to school and start a busy week all be it a short one.
Well that is the weekend report from Contraryville for now. All is well and we even have 9 baby hamster additions to our family. Isabel is ecstatic. That's what you get when you buy 2. Have a lovely day in the garden. Hope all are well and see ya later. MM
