Someone needs to hear about this, I should probably be accompanied everywhere I go. My big project this morning was to find and purchase all the hardware for putting up my new curtains in my bedroom. It is a beautiful day here, and off I went, not a cloud in the sky, and not a thought in my head....typical. I pulled into the parking lot at Lowe's, and this young girl was walking her little puppy, so cute. I got out, tried locking the door with the little keychain gizmo (remote?), and it wouldn't lock. So I manually locked it, and then checked to see if it would open with the gizmo. No problem. So I locked it up again, and proceeded into the store. I was in there at least an hour, finding all the stuff, and checked out. Got to my van...and the rider's side sliding door was wide open, and had been the whole time I was inside...This is fairly typical, so I don't know if I'll even mention it to my family. I'm forever opening all the doors and vents when I'm trying to lock or unlock. Sometimes I have everything happening at once, and that's always good for a laugh...Well, nothing was missing. I just had a load of stuff I was taking to donate to Catholic Charities, and my usual atlas, phone book, umbrella. Just a little surprise to come back and find it open.

Talked to my family this morning. They spent last night in Swansea, Wales, in a little bed and breakfast with a view of the sea. They say the weather is perfect, about 80* and sunny; people are picnicking, and walking along the beach. They went to the Museum of Welsh Life yesterday, and there was a festival going on. DH taped some dancers doing a folk dance, and waving flags, and he and the girls were wondering how the Welsh flag can be so similar to the Swedish one...well, they were visiting Swedish folk dancers! LOL Then he taped the Welsh dancers. Oh, so did I mention a couple of days ago, in a parking lot, someone backed into them? So a visit to the police station was necessary, but everyone was helpful and friendly. So yesterday they were driving along a narrow lane, which is a major roadway, and a big truck was coming towards them. DH had to pull over as far as he could to let the truck by, and scraped off the outside mirror on the wall at the side of the road....LOL. He's having plenty of driving adventures. He's really an excellent driver so this does my heart good as long as no one is hurt, because he *never* does anything wrong! And I am known for bruising up my car. What he remembers about Swansea is that it is the home of Catherine Zeta Jones...Is she about as beautiful as a human being can be? and talented? Geez.

Tonight a good friend is coming over and we're having pizza and wine, gossip and hand and foot wax/aromatherapy! Maybe we should hold off on the wine til after we dip our feet and hands! Another friend lent us her aromatherapy kit. Now how will I keep Maggie out of our business? She really loves my friend (well, Maggie tends to love everybody and is completely fickle) who usually brings her a treat, so I can only hope she (Maggie!!) will go to sleep once we start heating the wax.

I have got to do some cleaning today. All my good intentions have not borne a whole lot in the way of results! I've done some things, but the major house overhaul is yet to be done. Think I'll just get into it right now. Seems a lot of us are having sunny weather, and some are still getting the rain. Kt had a good trip. Lanie and Shari looking for a chaperone to keep them on the straight and narrow LOL. Hope's DS awaiting grad school word. Some people making me feel guilty by doing lots of yard work. KaCee is MIA again, or I've missed her; she's probably working on her yard, too. I'm procrastinating even now...LOL I'll say bye and get cracking here. Seren

Hi Seren, I'm here this morning! I have been trying to cut back on computer time as I don't seem to be getting all I want done around here lately. Computer and friends are too tempting! And this new format does take more time. I know, I know!

When DH is gone the first thing I do is clean house and then can just sit back and enjoy the time by myself and rooms not getting messed up as soon as I straighten them. Gee, reading back on that, I sound so psycho! I really am not one of those people that get all tense about their house getting messed up. Just nice not to be picking up newspapers off the floor and out of the bathroom and putting things back where they belong and straightening the pillows on the couch and..and... I am going on way to much about this!

So judging by your post your remote must operate your sliding door. Glad you didn't lose anything. Must be the week for car stuff.

Glad your family is having fun together. Enjoy your girlfriend time this evening and keep Maggie out of the wax! How are all the kitties doing? HAGD! KaCee

Poof!!! I'm gone!!

That is too funny!! Bet you were hoping no one saw you making your snafu..LOL!! Sounds like your family is having a great time and seeing some good stuff. Kind of humorous about the little car "mishaps"..LOL!! Something must be wrong because none of those things *ever* happen while a man is driving!! ;o) Have a good time with your friend tonight, sounds like a fun thingie to do together. Watch out for that wine..and Maggie..LOL!!...Susie

Hugs,

..

Oh dear Seren. I laughed out loud at your open door story and it brought back fond memories of MB. What do you say Bren? The same type thing happened when I was driving her van. Blu was sitting over there by the door that was open. I must have pushed every button on Bren's dash trying to get it closed. Bren "tried" to instruct me, but I was laughing so hard I couldn't concentrate on what she said. Then there was Blu back there adding her comments as soon as the laughter stopped and we would all laugh again. I couldn't see to drive because of the tears in my eyes. Bren, finally said, "don't touch any more buttons". She said it in the voice of an angel, so genuinely sweetly. lol I told her if it was my van, I would have grabbed the driver's arm, squeezed it real tightly and yelled, DO NOT TOUCH ANY MORE BUTTONS!!!! Now you will get to meet Bren and then will you understand the situation. She is a real honey of a person.

Now for your DH's adventures. Sounds like you are enjoying them, even without being their. Isn't it wonderful to be able to chuckle like that? And yes, Catherine is the most gorgeous woman in the world.

Wax, pizza and wine? Sounds like a tricky trio to me. Just be careful you don't drink the wax and pour the wine on your necessary parts. Have fun.

I'll bet your DH wouldn't have told you about his 'oops' had there not been witnesses!! LOL

I think maybe I'm glad I do not have a vehicle that will open anything automatically!!

Enjoy your day and evening....

Oh, KaCee, you are so disciplined! Cutting back on the computer to keep up with *other* things. I am so easily distracted, but I did get a few things done around the house after my little excursion this morning. Mostly floors...

The kitties are all doing very well, each in her individual way. Kit is out and about all day, and comes in at night to sleep. She knows the new kits are visiting, but she hasn't, to my knowledge, gone in to "their" room to say Howdy. Little Bella is just a beauty, and purrs all the time. She is staying in their room and doesn't seem to want to roam yet. Big Doc must come out at night and explore, and he's never visible in the morning when I first go in to check on them, and give food and water, and clean up. But by later in the day, there he is. He's a stealthy cat. He has the most beautiful fur. Well, obviously, I think cats are beautiful animals! DH asked me yesterday if Maggie was ruling the roost. I said yes, of course, she is, but to her overwhelming dismay, the cats refuse to acknowledge her as their ruler!

Hey, did you watch The Amazing Race last night? Right off to Italy they flew! Poor sweet middle-aged couple couldn't quite keep up, but still they had a nice trip out of it. Wow, and with 3 pairs tying for first place, they all won the vacation (to Hawaii?). When's a Big Brother coming up? You have a good weekend! Seren

You know, Susie, I was hoping no one saw me coming up to my car and noticing the door wide open! But, hey, that kind of thing happens to me often enough, that I handle it with my usual dignity...hahaha. That's a joke, Susie. I'm afraid my personal "reality show" doesn't include as much dignity as a *mature* woman should have...>sigh< I bought some groceries yesterday, paid for them, and walked off. The cashier had to call me back. And it isn't my age; I was always this way...Whatchagonna'do? LOL Seren

Seren,

As my future roomie in Savannah, am I am going to have to keep a homing device on you? LOL.

Enjoy that pizza, but really enjoy that aromatherapy. Luxury!

Hugs,

Dannie

Lanie, that made me laugh! I'm glad other people laugh til they cry over the same things I do. If you can laugh at yourself, well, in my case, you laugh a lot! LOL So who should the designated drivers in Savannah be??? I'm good at getting the vehicle where it needs to go; it's just the doors and locks, radios, heating and cooling, all those things that confound me. Then there was the time I was about to, as we call it, have a fit when I was trying to put gas in the car. DD and I were on our first foray up into N Carolina where she goes to school. It was just us, and we were completely exhausted after a long hot day of looking at apartments and so on. I forget what the problem was....well, honestly, I probably never understood what the problem was....DD had gone in to use the bathroom and she came outside to find me talking to the side of the car in a very irritated way. She asked if I was trying to discipline the car. I do remember it wasn't the car's fault. She told me to just get back in the car and she handled it. Isn't it wonderful when your children can handle things for you?

Yes, tonight I will try to keep the wine and the wax in their proper places. I *am* a klutz extraordinaire. I bet Catherine Z Jones has slaves to wax her feet...It just really isn't right that a woman should be so beautiful. She's probably smart, too. But, Lanie, bet she's not nearly as funny as we are!!! LOLOL Seren

PS You and Shari really do need a chaperone...LOL

I loved your post - and love the person it describes so well!!!! And you laugh at yourself!!!! So refreshing.

I'm happy that your DS is having such a nice time in Wales - it's beautiful country, though I didn't get to see as much of it as I would have liked. I had to laugh about the flag thingie ...... :)

Enjoy your lovely, leisurely and bonding evening.

hugs

Kt, how true, how true! DH had little choice but to 'fess up with both his daughters witnessing every grisly detail! He is the one, incidentally, who wants all the automatic accessories on the vehicles. Of course, I think they mostly come that way these days. I've always said I just want it to get me there, and have air conditioning (A.C. is mighty fine in the heat of summer!!). No need for radios, CD players, automatic windows and mirrors, and what we call "bun warmers" to warm the seats....just the basics: accelerator, brakes, you know!

You have a good weekend, too, Kt! Loved reading about your trip. Have you posted Part 2 yet? I'll have to check. Seren
