Gracious, I have found 12 boxes of Jello in the pantry as I am cleaning it out. How long does that stuff last, does anyone know? I have no idea how old it is, as I'm sure it was all bought at different times, and there is no date on it......BB

I don't think Jello goes bad but I would think it would attract ants.

You can use it up by making cool drinks with it.

BB, if they are sooooooooo old there aren't UPC codes on them, maybe you could get them on the Antique Roadshow! Or, at the very least, an antique dealer would love to sell them ..... oh, my ideas go on ....... lol. Liked the jello shooter idea.

BTW, I like your yellow cap icon. Suits you somehow. Take care. Later. Just Judy

I can't imagine it going bad, Beebs. What is in it anyway -- sugar and pulverized bones. I have had it in the back also for a long, long time, but must admit, I end up throwing it out!! lol Don't do as I do, do as I say.

Ok you guys here is the scoop.........

Open the box pour it in a bowl if there are no bugs in it ...it's good.......

Mine all have the date stamp but didn't know how to read them untill just a while back...The worst thing that could happen is that it tastes old I don't think it would kill you or anything...lol......so just to be on the safe side eat it with something creamy and you probably couldn't tell the diff.......lol......Janet

All I can say is LOL....I've had it get rubbery and solidify in my fridge before but it's never molded over with fuzz. This leads me to believe that there's not much there to go bad. Leave the bugs in as they may provide some nutritional value if that's been compromised by a decade or so in your cupboard. Bexter

Well evidently, we're all hoarding "Jello" somewhere in the back of our kitchen closets...

Someone must have put out the word there was going to be a shortage, why else did we all stock up on Jello and never use it...LOL

I know I have several boxes and I can't even begin to remember how long they've been there, the first number on one of the boxes is 0...which according to KT's post means it's from 1990...I know its not from 2000..haven't bought any in recent years..didn't need to I had all those boxes saved for a "Jello" emergency.

I'm not sure how long its lasts but when I think when it gets solid in the box you should consider replacing it...LOL

I guess it's time to get rid of the old stuff and start a new collection.
