Friday night hen party! Yes, I know curious minds want to know if Maggie still has all her fur what with wine-ing and wax-ing being on the agenda. Well, not to worry. Maggie is well, kits are all well, and no one was harmed in the making of last night's gala. LOL

Had a lot of fun, but didn't get around to the waxing!! My friend is recovering from a reaction to poison ivy so we didn't think hot wax would do her any good...She works in an art/gift sort of shop, and says she's felt a bit awkward showing pieces of fine jewelry and hoping the customers will ignore her oozing arms...yucky. It's going away now though. We did so much talking as always. She has 2 DDs about the ages of mine, and she's been married about the same length of time, although her marriage ended about 4 years ago. We have experienced so many of the same things, but also so many differences, kinda like all of us on this board. Let's face it, who's got more to offer in the way of humor, tolerance, ahhhh wisdom!..gooood conversation than women/wives/mothers of a "certain age"? We just amuse each other endlessly! What we say to each other would shock our daughters, nothing wild or scandalous, but, you know, outrageous. We were talking about Oprah's Gratitude List, and people who make lists of the 100 things they want to accomplish in life, and so on. And, well, we came up with the lists of things *we* are more likely to make. Oprah won't be booking us...to say the least. LOL and how our kids feel so much better after they've *dumped* all their problems onto Mom. We wonder at what point we get to turn the tables, huh? and at what point did their lives, their needs and worries become more important to us than our own?? I remember the exact time it happened for me. The doctor told me I was 3 centimeters dilated with my first baby. That's the moment I ceased to be an independent spontaneous woman, and became well, what I am now! LOL Maybe you had to be there, and have downed a glass of wine, but we had a great time, and laughed til we cried. I still have the wax therapy kit waiting though. So much to do, so little time.

Oh I heard from the family this morning. They're all safely back in London. DD2 is at her dorm, haven't heard from her, but I think her boyfriend had probably come in. DD1 and DH are going to see the Shakespeare comedy thingie, forget the title. They couldn't get seats at the Globe, so they may go by to look at the Theater tomorrow. They will have lunch and spend the afternoon with DD2 and meet her boyfriend tomorrow. Then DH flies home, will be here by late afternoon Monday. DD1 flies on to Florence, where a boy she dated there is meeting her at the airport with his car, which is wonderful as she always travels with way too much luggage. DD2 and a girlfriend are joining DD1 for a couple of days next week, and then spending a few more days somewhere in Italy. Then DD2 will be coming home. I *cannot wait* to give her a huge hug! Then it has to be strictly hands off, as she doesn't like to be fussed over...kids. DD1 loves to be the center of my attention; you can't give her *too* much attention. DD2 is more reserved, doesn't like to be the main attraction. Hey, she doesn't need to worry: with 3 cats and a dog in this house, no human is ever more than a servant to animals..LOL

Well better go. Need to run by the office, check mail there, see that all is in order. Oh, my very dear MiL called this morning to see how I was managing! I do love her. She's so sweet to think about me, wondering if I was OK. I told her my girlfriend came over last night, but I didn't mention the red wine...I have to maintain a good image with her!

Everybody be good....Seren
