Got some spice racks....

Went to WalMart first -- nothing there that I could use. But I did pick up some of my Healing Garden lavender pillow spray while I was there, and a new spray nozzle for my garden hose.

Next I went to Linens and Things....but before I went in, I went to the Pier One next door to L & T -- bought some new votives (or as Val's friend Storm calls them voLtives...LOL!) and a new pillow for the seat of my computer chair.

Between Pier One and L & T, there is an Old Navy, so of course I had to run in there too. Four new T-shirts later (hey, they were on sale, 2 for $18.00), I finally went into Linens & Things. Before I got to the kitchen storage area, I saw my favorite everyday dinner plates on a "discontinued" table. Bought all of them that they had (9), so now I have 19 everyday dinner plates. Come on over, all of you.

FINALLY......I found the spice racks. They are white plastic coated steel, and each one holds 15 spices. I bought 4 of them. DH will attach them to the back of the pantry door shortly, and I'll be in business.

So now I am home, after having done some credit card damage. Geez.....and I all I went out for was a spice rack. Oh well....

I have a couple of things to do, but I'll be back soon to read and catch up....BB

A better Question is what's for dinner! We sure would have fun shopping with BB as long as it's not on our credit card! LOL You should see my pantry, it has a scarf curtain for a door! it works for us! Uh Oh, Dh was digging around in there looking for snacks! I just told him to hold out for 10 minutes and the first pan of cookies will be coming out of the oven! I'm trying out a recipe of Zuccini Cookies from that new site i visited yesterday. He said he will wait for them! I will probably add it to the lady bug site if they are good! I also added rasins and nuts. They are more healthy then potato chips! Hugs, SusieK

BB, I'll be on that route tomorrow, going to those same stores! Should have done it today, but told myself I was waiting to see if there were coupons in the newspaper...which I have just been going through. Is it Linens and Things or Bed Bath and Beyond I've got to check for one final graduation present..hmm. I'm looking for the little bathroom caddies in pastels, maybe they are at BB&B. If they have them in now, I will get one of those, a towel and washcloth to go with, then to Target for flip flops to match, and then liguid body soaps, etc., to stuff in there. It's fun to fill a dorm bathroom package with cute and useful things. But wrapping that sort of gift is not something I do well. Then I have to mail it off to Arizona. Gee, that would be cause for major excitement and celebration for me to find dinner plates on the discontinued table!! What's the pattern name?

You've done good work on getting your pantry in shape! Excellent! I'm still awed that you actually date your spices...that is also most excellent! Seren

When we moved into this house it has a pantry I have never had one of those before. We found a full length shelf like you got not for spices though it can hold canned goods and what ever. But I want to tell you that is one of the best things I ever bought in my life. I also bought the spice one 4 or5 shelves for little stuff...since the patry is so narrow and started out to be a way to get to the basement(which they couldn't have here because of the water level) it wouldn't have held much otherwise. I have 2 of those inexpencive steel shelving things they have about 6 shelves to them and are about I don't know maybe 40" wide...I put 2 of those in front of each other in the back of the pantry so I had deep storage shelves then I bought those Tupperware lid holders to put on the opposite wall of the spice rack.....those things are wonderfull.....every lid for every plastic thing that has a lid is there. lol.....Since I don't do much baking anymore and they are pretty old I am going to ditch most of my spices and flavorings all Watkins. Some probably should have been dumped a while back but they filled the shelves....lol....

I wish the rest of my house could be as organized as my pantry......lol...Janet
