Good Sunday evening......m

Sooooo many messages, so I kinda do a skip and a jump through some. I hope all are doing well. I have had a busier week with my son from Davidson NC here for a visit and I also visited my DDIL at the Relay for Life Walk on Friday. That was very touching and very emotional. We are also excited as this same DDIL is expecting (just...so it will be a long wait! lol). JJ...I am trying to get a bit of a walk in and today walked for about 20 minutes. It is still strange weather going ons here. Soo much rain, wind and storms. Today was mostly windy with some sun and clouds...very dramatic. I love a breeze...even a good stiff breeze...stirs things up and feels so good. I plucked a weed or two but still not like I am used to normally. The mosquitoes here are over the top...awful. The painting question....I am looking into what it will involve to paint the tongue and groove paneling in the living room and wainscoting in the dining room and hallway, up the steps. It has become really dark cherry color over the years and after almost a year of lying on the sofa most of the time...I am waaaayy over the darkness. I want to lighten it up...garden colors, etc. It will take so much preparation before we can even paint and all the stuff that will have to be moved etc. ...so have to be up to that too. Also will need new carpet after that ( I have hardwood floors and would love to have area rugs, but dont think I can do that with Daddy and his walker... lots of decisions and knowing when I feel I will be up to all this. Oops..dinner is ready...see ya.... Frannie

Take it easy with all you want to do. Baby steps....don't rush, don't push.
I am so happy for you -- can't express how much with written words.
Love you......Beebs
Now you have a precious new life growing in your darling DDIL's womb. What could be a better blessing than that. The brighest ray of light in all the darkness you've been going through. God is good...all the time.
Good idea painting over your darkened paneling too. You're going to love the light bright happy colors you have in mind. Enjoy the transformation..but..don't work too hard on it either. Like everything else, baby steps.
I know you'll continue taking good care of yourself and I can hardly wait to hug you again in Savannah.
~~~Loving hugs, Susie
I think I have seen the folks at "Trading Spaces" paint over wood. They paint over wood furniture all of the time. So, you should be able to have your tongue n'groove and wainscoting painted. Maybe you can get some suggestions from the local paint store or whereever it is you will buy the stuff for the transformation of your rooms.
Glad to see you back.
Hugs,
Dannie
About the paneling...we had dark paneling in the foyer and a little lighter (but not much) paneling in the den and on one wall in the kitchen...and also DH's office (that was the worst)
Talked about painting it for awhile and DH always use to tell me "you can't paint paneling" He just wanted to keep things "like they were"...
We did paint the paneling and it came out just great..what a difference it made, even eventually did his office. You can go two ways..they have this paintable wallpaper that you can put on that will cover the paneling or you can use a good primer first and then paint it, which is the way we went. It will make such a difference, brighten everything up...even DH now admits its so much better.
I wanted to keep the "country look" in the den so I redid that room with natural wood planking and that also came out very nice.
Glad that you're getting out in your yard even to pick a weed or two. Good luck with your redecorating.
