Now, that sounds like such a good opening for a really exciting little tale, but don't get too excited. LOL It's purely more of the same for this household. To keep it easier to follow, from today on, DD1 will be called Prime, and DD2 will be called Bonus, which are actually names they have approved! Have to be careful, as they do not trust me talking on the internet with a bunch of complete (and undoubtedly wacko!) women. OK. Let's begin:
DH arrived safely home last night. I made him a nice dinner including a big green salad and lots of fresh fruit for dessert. He has this idea that people in England and Wales live on fish and chips, well, we understand that is not an accurate picture, only what *he* experienced. By 11pm, he is happily snoring in a deep sleep. Midnight or 1 am, sometime in the darkness, Bonus calls from somewhere. DH answers as the phone is on his side of the bed. Bonus says something about "we are here, lost the phone number". So he says OK, talk to your mother, hands the phone to me, but there is no one there. So I try to find out where she is, Italy, London?, with her sister?, lost what number??????????? Can I have some clue as to what she called about. He's somewhat grumpy, and off to sleep again within seconds.
7:15 am: phone rings, DH has already left for work, I'm still abed. Bonus can't talk long, costs too much, and her battery is low. But she has lost the number of the boy in Italy who is acting as the intermediary to link her up with her Sis, Prime. As I'm quickly, under 30 seconds, talking with her, another call comes through, and I know, I mean *know* it's Prime calling. It is. Please call she says, and hangs up. Now what number???? I find a calendar from last year with her old cell phone number, call it 3 times, before she finally answers.......she doesn't know how to turn the ringer on, so didn't hear me calling before.......Her room in her apartment is wonderful, landlady who has one bedroom is a philosophy professor at the university, and her Japanese flatmate is actually a very good-looking young man from Equador.....Now I know her phone number is up and running (she has bought a used cell phone somehow and put her number in it? or something like that), so I email Bonus's boyfriend in England with the number and he text messages it on to Bonus. Are you with me, Susie especially?? LOL See, I'm trying to use names to make this easier, but can you see why I live in a state of confusion??? Is it me? No, I don't thing so. It is these daughters of mine, and I didn't raise them to be so difficult! LOL
So I am going to need recovery time to pull the fragments of my brain back together. DH wants to think it is some sort of dysfunctional gene that I have passed on to our offspring. But I refuse to accept the blame! LOL I warned the pink-cheeked young BF of Bonus that involvement with Bonus would make him gray and old before his time. His response: he has skipped gray entirely, and discovered white hairs already in the last months! LOL
OK, this is probably pretty boring to the rest of you. So I'll quit droning on and on. I keep thinking about how much I want these girls to bring me grandbabies to love and play with, but geez. They'll have to marry with some really solid, logical, steadfast fellows, or this will only keep on into the next generation. LOL I'm going to rest now, hope you all are getting more good stuff accomplished that I am on this rainy day. Seren

I can identify with your story completely and followed every twist and turn!!! I had similar frustrations when DD took a bus trip across (east to west) Canada with no-one else and nothing but a backpack and a cell phone she rarely turned on!!! Of course, I did the same in England 3 years ago and didn't even have a cell phone ........ guess the nuts really don't fall far from the tree - lol
Anyway, the fact that you were going away to rest tells me all is well, for the moment at least. And it's much more fun when it's the grandkids who do this kind of thing .... you can say to those two DD's - gotcha!!!!
How can they worry about a group of "gray hairs" on the internet when they're traipsing all over God's creation - lol!!!! No figuring them, is there.
Rest well.
Hugs
JJ
