First of all, I arrived home without incident, almost sad. lol

Then there is Shari. What a dynamic, interesting, gracious, talented person.

Food? She has told you all about that except for the results. Everything was so good. She is so organized. Had her "recipes" for the visit on a clip board, but don't ask her for them. I feel she is like another friend of mine who is a good cook. This other friend always leaves out "1" ingredient so it won't turn out as well as hers did. This is true. Soooooooooooo good!! Such good food. My idea of good food is to go to a resaturant.

Anyway, Shari met me at the ferry and big hugs and smiles were exchanged. I felt they were sincere on both of our parts. She took me on a tour of the area with stories to go with houses, restaurants, commercial buildings. Then to her house. She said this house was a downsizing from their former home, which we could see across the marshes. OOOOOOOh, such a beautiful setting. Sunken living room with a view most beautiful -- glass sliding doors opening onto a deck and it all looked out onto the marshes and beyond the marshes was the bay. Shari says they can see the sunset. Can you picture it?

Of course then, there was the food, but that is a repeat. I am here to tell you it was delicious, she told you what it was.

She showed me to "my room" which was on the second floor and had a deck of its own overlooking the same scene. I retired in that room and slept without waking up in the middle of the night. Of course, we watched the Miss Universe pagent before retiring. I criticized the show and she was gracious! There is no Sheriton that could be that nice.

In the morning she prepared breakfast (which she also had recipes for on her clipboard). Now is this a teacher?

We went window shopping on the "beach" and EVERY SINGLE CLOTHING store we entered, they all waved to Shari. "Hi, how are you", on and on. After leaving each store she would whisper in my ear that she got a 20% discount there!!!! Everywhere we went, people knew her and with obvious respect. Now I guess I will have to stop being so fresh to her in our chats. Oh lordy, was she fun.

Break!! Spent the past 30 minutes talking with our "realtor" so now I am discombobulated! lol Is that a word?

Shari -- thank you for a wonderful 2 days. Now it is back to the tough stuff.

Bugs -- happy to be back where I can talk about "Shari" without her looking over my shoulder. Our Shari is a wonderful person, and I can't say enough nice about her without sounding phoney.

Signing off for now.

Lanie

I loved being with Shari and am so thankful to her for such a nice two days.

Oh Lanie, what a post! I felt like I was there! As you know, I have also met Shari before, so I can picture her in my mind. But I could also see vividly the scenes you described! Beautiful! And I'm not at all surprised that everyone in town knows her -- she is just that kind of bug!

I am smiling here. Thanks for posting your account of the mini-bug gathering -- I am going back to read it again! Love you both!......BB

Sounds so wonderful, all of it, and I can't hardly wait to meet our Shari too and to see you again too dear Lanie. So glad you Bugs got to get together, loved reading all about it and Shari's home sounds very beautiful.

Lanie, I think I figured out why your little green nursie icon thingie looks like she's smiling really big and has teeth missing. I think that's supposed to be a surgical mask!! LOL!!

I'm so glad the two of you had such a delightful time and that you returned home safely. I can't imagine ladybugs meeting and not having a fun time. I know I will forever cherish the short time I had with BB and Blu and Mama Blu. Now, if you're ever near Milwaukee... Kathey

Thank you Lanie, you are way too kind! You failed to tell them that I talked your ear off!:) Anyway, I'm glad you made it home safely. You were the *perfect* houseguest! You can come visit me anytime!

Thanks again for the lunch! It was delicious, wasn't it?

Have a good evening.

Hugs,Shari

Ladybug get-togethers never lack for warmth, hugs, or friendly fun chatter! And nearly always include food!!! I'm so glad the two of you got to do this!!

Glad you had such a nice time, Lanie. Yes, discombobulated is a word. But, I am not going to get up to look it up. Just take my word for it. I feel like that sometimes too. So, it must be a word and a good one at that. LOL

Nothing beats meeting ladybugs in person. I still remember meeting Val and Dee for Sunday brunch. Can't wait for September.
