Good Thursday Morning....

It was 80 degrees here this morning at 10 am. I was up and outside at 7:30 weed-eating and cleaning up the driveway. Back inside at 10. Too hot for me out there! Took my shower and am now just taking care of inside things and doing some laundry. As soon as the sun moves around a little I will go out front and do up some pots for the front of the house and down by the mailbox. I also went to the store and bought what I needed for Taco salad for dinner. Easy, easy!

Lanie, the more I look at it the more your little green guy looks like a nurse.

Shari, your visit sounds like so much fun.

Francine, sorry it is raining on your time at the beach

Wren, hope your computer is acting up

MM, isn't it great when the lights go your way?!

Janet, thanks for the tip on the savings bonds

BB, hope your annual goes well

Hope, nice that your student remembered

Seren, you must be busy today.

I need to go read some more. Ciao! KaCee

OH, KaCee, my dear....80* at 10 am, going on to 90*?? You would wilt down here for sure! Now you may understand why we Southern ladies move slowly and rest in the afternoons!! Well, I have to speak for myself; no doubt BB and Dannie just dash around all day long...North Carolina is already in a cooler zone,I think, so those bugs can have more energy! No, I'm really just teasing, KaCee, warm is warm, and especially if you're accustomed to cooler temps in early June. Here it hasn't gotten too warm yet, and I was thinking just a while ago how pleasant it is these days of early summer. Rain is due for the next few days, however.

As a travelling bug, you might be interested to know that both my DDs are in Italy now, and sweltering!! They walked around the Boboli Gardens in Florence yesterday, one of Prime's favorite places, and 'bout died. But that was OK, because they spent the evening in a cool little hangout having a reunion with some of her friends. Bonus is travelling with a girlfriend who said she's always wanted to ride a Vespa, so Prime's friend called up another friend with a Vespa, and she got her wish! That's kinda fun, isn't it, to be young, visit Italy, and have a friend who can arrange fun things like that? To be young and wandering around Italy is not a bad deal, all in all! LOL Hey, to be old and wandering is not a bad thing!!! Well, obviously, in my case, it tends to be my mind that wanders...LOL Still I thought about you, and thought you would have wanted a ride on the Vespa, wouldn't you? Be honest, now! LOL Seren

I don't really think my Prime and Bonus gimmick is very helpful...

Good morning, Kacee. I'm not sure how you make your taco salad, but have you tried the Azteca salad shells, the ones that you bake yourself? They are sooooo good!

Hope you have a good day and weekend....BB

BB and Seren, I know that you southern belles don't sweat, you just glow. Sorry but I sweat! 90 degree heat is not my friend! It is suppose to cool off next week. Yippee!! I guess I am just a little worried about what the rest of our summer will be like. Our higher temperatures don't normally start until mid July or sometimes later.

DH put a fan down on the floor for Anna to lay in front of. No, that dog is not spoiled, no, not at all! LOL!

I just put my Taco salad fixings on a bed of lettuce. DH usually adds some Taco chips to his. KaCee

Oh, KaCee, that is so thoughtful of your DH to take care of Anna that way! and, well, the truth is, we do actually glow a little more some times than other...LOL Did I mention that DD who is coming home next week (yea! yea!)wants to burn the clothes she has been wearing in Italy, because she has just been "a big old sweatball"....My, how we do lose our charm sometimes!!! It was May when we were in Rome and points south. The temp was high 70's, maybe 80 and perfect for sight seeing. I remember that about 2 weeks after we got home they had a real heat wave, around 110-115 and was on the national news here at home. Glad we weren't there then! Your DD will be glad to be home. Is this the one with the pink-cheeked BF? What were DH's impressions of the BF? KaCee

Yes, pink cheeks and, in DH's words, "as scrawny as I was at that age"! DH and DD1 both agreed he is the complete nerd (and we *love* nerds in our family!!), not nearly as shy as DD2 seemed to think he would be around them, very pleasant, easy to talk to.....they liked him very well. However, as we don't know DD2's intentions, we are now even more concerned that he will be hurt later this summer...She doesn't want to hurt him, but we'll just have to see how it goes. If young love isn't the forever love, some one gets hurt. Usually I guess they both get hurt, but one more than the other. During this visit, he and I emailed a few times because we were the conduit for information back and forth instead of too many expensive phone calls. And, as much as I can tell, I think he's a very nice boy. But the problem for me and DH is: how do you be friendly with a BF who is visiting for a month, without being too friendly? We've decided a superficial friendliness is safe, but I'm not good at that! I find that very hard to do. We've had all these exchange students live with us, and we enjoy having them in our home, and we find it fairly easy to slip into this parenting role. But in this case that seems not good. Advice???? Help!! Seren
