Hi Ladybugs, Let us see how many of those little blood suckers we can catch with a plate of JOy dish detergent! I have a plate out on the patio table waiting for them! A white one just like was in the instructions! SusieK

Hi SusieK! You'll have to report back because I'm thinking it's gonna be war against mosquitos this summer! My older daughter was asking me this morning about how to get rid of them because they have been attacking her. I remembered the detergent, wasn't it lemon scented??? I'll check on that, because her landlady told her to cut a lemon open and rub lemon juice on her arms and legs. So would that attract or repel them??? since I thought the detergent was lemon??? She's in Italy and can't get the Bounce fabric softener sheets...she needs some suggestions. I mentioned the vanilla, but I need to go back and read Kt's whole list to see what I can find that she can find. Pass on any ideas. Thanks! Seren

Strawberry, that is so funny. I bought lemon Joy at the store yesterday too! Will try it this weekend on my screened porch out back. The porch has a doggie door and we always have a few mosquitoes finding their way in through the door. I'll let you know how the Joy works for me, and you do the same!....BB

Good Luck, Everyone

We battle mosquitoes constantly. Because we live near a dairy farm, we are in a no-spray zone. we also have to worry about West Nile Virus (Several dead birds in our town tested positive for it.) and equine encephalitis (We have horse farms in our area, too.).

It's always something.

We have a pedestal fan on our deck which helps. Mosquitoes don't fly well in windy conditions. We also use several OFF products ... to spray on ourselves and the environment. They work.

Good morning Susie K.,

I haven't read what this is all about yet but hopfully I will get to read much of the board this weekend. A dish of Joy in the patio---sounds like one of Wren's instructions. Kathey
