Been having trouble getting on the Board

the past 2 days. Finally have arrived.

We have changed a lot since the other e-village Board and I must admit that I still miss the old format. This Board seems kind of "cold". O keep telling myself to adjust, but is becoming harder than I thought it would be. There must be a way we can communicate with each other without all of this hassle.

I'm in for the rest of the day after shopping for "bedspreads". Egads, does anyone sell attractive bedspreads anymore without goint to the dreaded "dust ruffle"? It must be me, but every time I attempt using a dust ruffle, it gets all crooked. One side hangs down on the floor and the other is way up there where it doesn't belong!!! We now are using these pretty crocheted dust ruffles with a rather plain coverlet, but fer sher!, the dust ruffle is crooked. I refuse to give up.

Sitting here listening to the children's voices in the neighborhood, while they are playing. In a way I will be missing those sounds, but surely will not miss the barking dogs. lol

Have a nice afternoon all you great Buggies.

Lanie, shopping for bedspreads is frustrating for me as well. That's what I was doing last week, and just wanted something simple but of good quality...not too much to ask for???? I had given up but had found a quilt for a wedding gift, then glanced over and saw just what I wanted and ta-da!! on sale!! So I'm happy for now. Dust ruffles are pretty, I think, but I'm always having to fuss with them to keep them straight, and that's too much fussing over a detail...

I kinda/sorta know about your upcoming move, but what is your schedule? You lucked into a great temporary place for a month, right? Hope the move will go as smoothly as possible for you. Isn't it good to know that Dee is safely in her new place, even if probably not close to "settled" yet.

I'm getting used to this board, although I wondered what was happening yesterday when I couldn't get in! A problem I have is that I don't always know if I've answered someone, or am I up-to-date on what someone's doing; but, frankly, that's partly "an operator problem"! That's just the way I am in life...I know the other day I was sure I had posted to Wren and somebody else, and later noticed I couldn't find my posts. But who knows? I probably hit the wrong buttons.

Enjoy your sunshine while ye may! Seren

Seren, we have to be out of this house on June 27, the settlement date. We will be in a duplex temporarily, probably until the end of July. We visited with the owner of the condo we are buying the other day and she said they might be out before the end of July. I told her not to rush, because I really want to stay in the duplex for a month. DH isn't too excited about it, but both DDs and I are. We are beach lovers and the duplex is a few blocks from the beach. Nothing special, just a place to lay our heads. It will be clean, 3 bedrooms (which we won't need), but we will store our "stuff" in those bedrooms. It will be unfurnished except for what we move over.

I do tend to ramble on. Just give me an excuse to talk and I run away with it. lol

But for the love of pete, Seren, don't do that (give her an excuse to talk) while she's driving! She'll wander in circles in a parking lot!!!

Hugzzzzz, Lanie!

Thank you Kt. Thinking about that always makes me laugh. I would be in the dumps a lot if it weren't for such happy memories.

Hi Lanie, I don't come here as often as I use to with this format. When I do, I seem to just check here and there and know I am missing a lot...but just can't get into it.

I hate those dust ruffles too. I have tried to use them and finally get so frustrated with them that I take them off. It seems that when I get to trying to fix them I end up ripping seams and there I am with ruffle pulling away from the flat part. I have seen the ones in the catalogs that you velcro along the box springs or something but haven't felt the need to even check into them. I can't seem to find nice looking bedspreads either.

Enjoy your weekend.

Hugs...Pab

Lanie, *I* don't think you ramble at all! LOL I'm always afraid that not only am I rambling, but I'm talking nonsense *and* repeating myself! I always like to read what you're up to, and a month in your duplex sounds good for you and your DDs. What's your DH's hesitation? Your "almost" roomie, Seren

The mattresses are so thick and high, I wonder if bedspreads would even work. Hope you get it all figured out. I have new neighbors with small children. I guess it will be pleasant, but the little one is crying now. : )
