It's raining, it's raining and is supposed to most of the day.......YEAH!! Can't drop balls in the rain......
I don't want the whole thing to be spoiled but darn it we have a perfectly good park. Know why they do it down town? You can't here my voice right now then you would know what I think of their idea.... They say"It is good for the downtown area".. Yeah sure like ever one from bigger towns will be here NOT just mostly us locals, we have a grocery store, feedstore, 2 bars, the post office, bank, and a beauty shop and a gas station down town.....What is open?
The bars, gas station and the grocery........see what I mean. Yes from working at he bar I know that they do benifit from this but the grocery store said he don't notice much difference...the gas station no one would drive into town empty and pay the higher price than they do 20 miles on either side of us and every other business is closed on Saturday.
So every year I am a gloomy gus about the whole thing as is most of the towns people(this thing is now being sponcered by the Young Members Club....now they are in their late 30s to early 40s.
It is cold and rainy here and I am sorry but maybe tomorrow I will let go and let it go into Iowa and MI but right now I am holding on to it.......lol.....Janet

Being small is the charm and the damnation all at once. But I couldn't be happy in the city.
But they say that if we lose the school that we will be a ghost town.....most every one here either drives truck, or works in O'Neill or Neligh (20 mi either side of us POP about 3-4 thousand) And when the kids aren't in school they either act like idiots or they drive their new cars to another town and act like idiots there.....lol.......
For the most part it is comfortable here...I wouldn't live anywhere else. I told DD2 one time that the reason I like to go to Omaha once in a while is because I can thank God for getting me out of there.....lol.......
She on the other hand loves the city......she grew up with me and we are a lot the same except for that....well she likes the sun too.....cool and low population is good for me.lol.....Janet
Hope you have a nice, ping-pong-free day, Janet.....BB
You know those people that live .......oh, maybe a couple of blocks from you. You know that they are the Jones' but they have not been to your house nor you to theirs...you just know who they are.
They are the ones that will stand in front of the house today with a bunch of kids with bottles of pop and have the nerve to come and say....."Janet can I take Susie to the bathroom?"......Now, I can say "NO" and be known as the town b**** or even though I am alone I say....."I am sorry, I have grandkids taking showers, there is a bathroom in the fire hall accross the street." Which they still think I am snotty but really......they forced me to do it. DH said charge them $5 that may deter some......lol........
That is all the complaining I am going to do today....I hope......lol.Janet
"Yes we have NO public bathroom"
or
"Bathroom fee: $5.00" - -Nah, that might encourage them!!!!
or
"Need a potty - go across the street"
I love hearing you so riled up about this event every year, Janet!! Bless your heart, you may keep the rain for today, if it will keep the idiots out of your face!

Janet, one question.....suppose it rains all day (and I hope for your sake, it does)....will they do the ping-pong drop next weekend or will they just hang on to their balls for next year?
