breakfast, then off to the mall. DH is at work so I have a free day. Have to get to JC Penney to look at their bedspreads. Then back home and the dreaded exercising. Is there anyone who actually "enjoys" exercise?

Was woken up around 3:00 a.m. due to noise in the cul-de-sac. The dentist's daughter is home from college and it sounded like they were partying it up. Laughter outside and a car squeeling wheels. Surely won't have those sounds in our "adult" condo. lol Will kind of miss it though. She is a nice girl and it is good to see her growing up to a mature woman. I remember her playing in the snow banks in front of our house when she was young, asking for toll house cookies.

Have a good day all you Buggies.

Hi Lanie, It's too bad you weren't in the Fisherman's Suite last night! You would have slept peacefully all night. I meant to ask you if you were worried about that stuffed sailfish hanging over your head.

Enjoy your trip to the mall and TRY to enjoy your exercising...I guess I'll get on my exercise bike since it's raining HARD outside...again.

Hugs,Shari

Morning, Lanie! It's just pouring here, with a little thunder and lightening thrown in for dramatic effect...There is so much I could be doing here...should be doing...and I was thinking, well, I would play in the snow banks, too, if she would give me some toll house cookies!! My mind does wander! DD in Italy is baking toll house cookies today to take to a birthday party tonight *if* she can locate a cooky sheet.

Good luck at Penney's. As often as not, I use quilts for bedspreads, but in the summer I like to use a lighter, plain white spread. Hope you find what you're looking for. Exercise??? I've got to get back to it. Sometimes, after a few months of it, I can convince myself that I enjoy it. But it's a mind game, and unfortunately, it's hard for me to play it with myself. LOL Be good, Lanie. Seren

The plain white spreads reminded me of the embroidered sheets that my grandmother used to use for spreads in the summer. They were very elaborately embroidered. I have 3 of them. I have been trying to think of a way to use them other than on a bed.

Good luck at the mall, Lanie. You must be enjoying getting the new place together. Will the new furniture be ready when you get to the condo?

Oh, I bet those are so pretty, and made by your grandmother, or did she do the embroidery herself?? I have a tablecloth crocheted in gold thread by my great-grandmother, and a tablecloth my grandmother cross-stitched just for me. I treasure those things. And all the china my mother painted for me. Love those things handed-down from the women before me. Seren

Well, did you get a bedspread????? Maybe you should be looking in a quilting store and buy yourself a lovely heirloom quilt??? Or - aren't you close to the Amish communities? A friend bought a quilt from them and it was gorgeous.

Enjoy your day without DH - mine is at DD's installing a pario door!!

I don't know Bren. I hope so, but am not going to hold my breath. We just ordered the living room sectional, 2 chairs and ottoman, so I KNOW they will not be there when we move in. We will be able to make do, though.

Yes, I did get kind of what I wanted. Got it from JC Penney, called "Blue Diamonds". Got a bedspread, pillow shams to match and light blue pillows for contrast. The carpet in the entire condo is burgendy (sp?) so we have to go lighter with the accessories. I think it will look nice. I opened up a charge account there today which offered 10% off the day's purchases, then the store was offering 35% off everything when you spend over $100. I easily reached that so the total was 45% less than full price.

There is a very large window in the bedroom and I am having a little trouble deciding how to "dress" it. Would prefer not to use blinds, shades or the every-day drapes. It is actually a triple window with a half moon over the center portion. Window sill is about 5 feet long. We won't have to cover the half moon area, but the rest of the window will need something for privacy. Any suggestions?

AND, guess who was waiting for me when I returned home? lol

Oh Bren, how beautiful they must be. I have a crocheted my paternal grandmother made in the early 1900s. Afraid to put it out.
