So this morning around 9:00, my mom calls and says, "Have you already gone out and bought a lot of food for our visit?" Yes, I had, but nothing that wouldn't keep. I had put the steaks in the freezer, and the potatoes would certainly keep. The salad makings that I bought, no problem there, I eat a lot of salad. And I have bought the ingredients to make Bren's toffee thingie, but hadn't made it yet. Same with Susie's breakfast casserole, all that stuff will keep.
So.........you know where I am going with this........my mom asked if they could postpone for one more week, the reason being that it is raining big time here and also in SC where they live. The interstate (I-85) they travel to get here was covered in green on the weather radar this morning, and flooding rains are precicted all day. "They" are telling people not to travel if they don't have to. It is a mess here in this part of the south.
My parents aren't getting any younger, and they do not like driving when it is bad weather like it is today. I don't blame them, it is a 2 1/2 hour drive, and in the pouring rain, on the interstate with all the big trucks and assorted nutzoids, it can be very stressful, not to mention downright dangerous.
So once again, I find myself with a clean house and no one but us to enjoy it. Oh well, no biggie, I can play on the computer today! And DH and I will go out for Mexican tonight. Who knows, maybe a Judith Light movie will be on the Lifetime channel.
Just wanted to come here and report the latest. You must think I have the flakiest family -- they are coming for a visit.....they aren't coming for a visit....they're coming.....they're not. LOL! Next weekend (unless we get more blankety-blank RAIN!), they will be here. That will be better anyway, as next weekend is Father's Day. That will be nice, to have my Dad here on Father's Day.
Okay, I am off to read the morning posts now. Have a good day, bugs. Sure hope the weather is nicer where you are. Those of you who are east of me......Bren, Strawberry girl, Pab, Jopenni in the sandhills......Look out! It's been raining here now for 19 hours straight, and there is no end in sight.
......BB

Sure do understand about your folks not wanting to make that trip in the pouring rain - 'tis not a fun thing to do. Ah well, next weekend!
Does this mean I can't come to dinner tonight either, Beebs?! (LOL)

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!
I think your parents are very wise to have postponed their visit. 2 1/2 hours can easily stretch to 5 if you're crawling along and struggling to see over the spray of tractor trailers.
I just finished a conversation with my mother. I think she is wishing she could travel more freely but Aunt Nellie who is 101 now depends on her for everything ... and there's no one else she can count on to help out. She hasn't been north to visit in several years.
Oh! Well! Guess I should start packing.
Have a good afternoon.

It's been pouring here as well. I do have housework still waiting on me...darn. I am so not in the mood. LOL Hope you find a good Judith movie. I ended up watching the entertainment channel a few minutes ago, about Britney and Justin!!!! LOLOL Better TV-luck to you! Seren
Do me a favor, will ya? All that rain you are sending my way....send it up to Janet instead. She has a use for it (prevention of ping-pong balls on the roof and munchkins tearing up her yard), I don't...lol
Have a great weekend, my friend......BB
Been meaning to ask....how is your DD doing? Much better, I hope.
Hugs.....BB
Fit to be tied...I'll say! The thought of it still makes the blood pressure want to creep up! LOL
How are all the animals?? Mine had me up at 6 am....on a rainy morning...a rainy *Saturday* morning...How sad is that? Seren
Butter is getting around better, but still....well....old! Poor guy. But the new meds the vet gave him have helped a lot. His arthritis has gotten so bad, an aspirin just doesn't cut it anymore.
Have a good one.....BB
