Yes, we are going to babysit our grand dog today, and tonight.

First time Jasmine will spend the night. I believe our dd is

checking us out to see if we will be good sitters for her soon

to come, baby! Just about 5 weeks to go. Jasmine is a white

german sheppard, and just a beauty. She is well behaved and I

guess dh and I will have to be well behaved, also. At least the

two cats are staying at home. Dd and dsil are going to a wedding

out of state. I told her to take a "bag" in case the baby comes

early. Hope not!

Dh and I worked on the screen porch, yesterday and are going to

be working out there again, today. Replacing screen and putting

up new boards. Tiring.

Thats it from here, hope all are doing well.

Hugs,

Fran

Good morning, Fran. I can't believe it's only five weeks away! You all must be getting so excited.

That was good advice you gave your DD about taking a packed bag with her. If she takes it, she won't need it, but if she doesn't....well....you know how that goes.

Have fun with the grand dog. She sounds beautiful.....BB

Fran, Is it just me or has everyone noticed it that our grown children don't seem to recognize that parents do know something about raising children even caring for a newborn. When they do decide we are capable of keeping them for a few minutes or hours they come with written instructions and then spend and hour making sure we know the proper way to diaper and dress little junior or tiny tillie. Then comes the proper way to hold the baby when it comes time to feed and just what to feed and when and make sure you write down just how much he or she eats. You would think that we had never seen a child before let alone had one in the house. And we have to stand there with a stupid grin plastered on our face an nod our heads and say it will be ok and we will do all that she says and for them to go and have a good time and then they show up an hour earlier than they said just as the baby wakes up and has made a mess in its diaper and it looks like you never changed it or anything. Making you look totally incompatent. I don't have my own gc yet but I have seen how the young mothers treat their own mothers and have been on the receiving end of some of the barbs handed out by the new know it all moms upon leaving their babes for the first time. I have even wondered who they thought got them up to the level of greatness that they achieved so that they could be so judgemental of their own mothers ability. There were some things that my mom did that I didn't want her to do to my kids but I sure do wish that she was around to help me with them when they were little but she wasn't and she isn't here to discuss them now. Some kids just don't know when they are blessed. Didn't mean to turn it nto a gripe session it just happened those of you who know me know that I climb on soap boxes and don't know when to get down and those of you who don't know me will find out soon enough. But I think I have it out of my system for now.LOL.

Now Fran I don't want you to think that I think that your DD won't think you capable of caring for your GC it was just an observation that I have made over the years. She does think you are responsible enough to keep her Jasmine after all. Love Kulani

Kulani, you can rant and rave all you want! I'm so

happy to see you here on the board!

I really was kidding about dd checking us out with

the granddog, dd is wondering how she will be as a

mom herself. And it has been so long since I took

care of a little one, I'm a little worried I may have

forgotten how to do it. I'm sure it will come back

to me, and I'm also sure that our daughter will be a

wonderful mother.

Wore my self out today, running the dog in and out of

the house to "potty". Diapers will be easier,lol..

Hugs to you,
