Kt...sorry about the little birdies.
Lynda...sounded like a nice day spent with Franni. Glad to hear that she is looking good.
Janet...my backspace key is going to be worn out first too...I sure do tend to have to use it a lot. Glad to read that you had a peaceful day!
BB...sorry to hear your parents weren't able to make it this weekend but it will be nice that you will get to spend Father's Day with your DF. Thanks for the cue...I hadn't thought about the fact that NEXT weekend is Father's Day need to get the cards ready to send to my DF and DFiL. My DF's b'day is June 18th so he will get a combined card. Do the same with my DM, as her b'day is May 18th.
Lanie...glad you found a bedspead that you liked...great savings there.
Seren...have fun with the remodeling, when you are finished, I have some things around here that need redone. You and your DH sound like my parents when they redid their house...my DF did most of the work and DM was the holder, etc. She was the one that stained and varnished the woodwork though. If I was around, I got to be the holder too, remember when they were putting new sheet rock up on the ceiling in one room, DM and I were there with T-shaped braces holding while he nailed them up. When we reshingled the roof, he had rulers fixed with the space marked on them so we would get the shingles spaced just right. My late DH was not one to take on such projects...I did all the repainting of the walls in the first house we lived in. I am going to have to hire to get a major repair done in our main bathroom but I will still paint myself, have a couple of rooms that do need it, think maybe this winter I will start that.
Susie...sounds like a very relaxing day for you, just be careful with all that rolling around. LOL
Welcome to the newbies that have joined us.
I worked in the kitchen today. Got the floor really scrubbed clean. I have been damp mopping it here lately and it really needed a hard cleaning. Used my steam-cleaner on it. Then I got the eating area, decluttered. DS and I usually end up eating in the familyroom in front of the tv so the table gets full of clothes from the dryer and everything else that I'm not sure where to put. Took the leaf out of the table so now it is small and round...hopefully being smaller it won't get so cluttered. I am not finished in there so after I eat my baked potatoe that is waiting for me in the oven, I will at least get the sink emptied and maybe "shine" it. Oh also put all the animals water and food dishes in the dishwasher and got them all cleaned up too. Yes, Brenda, I plan to reward myself with some down time this evening once the sink is cleaned.
Enjoy the weekend...rain and all. It is getting here...the local weatherman was talking about what to expect.
Hugs...Pab

I have always been one to "get into it" whenever a major project was under way. My DS and I re-roofed the house (from the rafters out!) about 10 years ago. What a job! My dad was a carpenter and I "helped" him as I was growing up. Until I was 15 I was the only kid in the house!
I used to get teased because when my X-DH worked on any of the equipment I got dirty & greasy! That was because I always heard, "Start this bolt for me please, your hands are smaller than mine." So I'd be holding a greasy bolt! That happened when I was at Ric's this last time too - when he was changing the tire on the cycle!!
Ah, memories...
