I am disappointed. I have enjoyed watching the owners of Funny Cide. They could have been NC fellows.

Well, it has rained most of the day, and I have been a little lazy. I guess it is time to get something accomplished.

Seren, I do not envy you. At least you have accepted the part of the apprentice and you are not trying to be the master (or so he thinks).

Janet, did you win your yearly match with the ping pong balls?

BB, I don't blame your parents at all.

Pab, good for you. I have to watch my table, too. It always gets cluttered with work papers.

Susie, try to stay in that chair today. It is only a few more days, right?

Kulani, good to see you today.

I should get busy. HAGE

Yes, Bren, I watched, and was disappointed. Yes, those guys were such nice men. Races are so hard to watch. Both my DDs ran cross country, and races are not fun for me to watch! Someone will win, but the others only place where ever they place, and I always feel happy for the winner, and sad for all the others. The excitement is so intense. Well, anyway, the winners were thrilled, and FunnyCide's owners probably aren't too desolate! But did you see the jockey's little son?? Poor sweet little boy, hard to see his Daddy lose.

Don't work too hard to try to accomplish anything on this Saturday! It's hard to get motivated on rainy days I think. And now it's evening time. Be good to yourself! Seren

Bren,

I saw two of the owners in an interview and they said that if it rained it would be a disaster because Funny Cide didn't like running in the rain. So they were hoping that it wouldn't rain at least during race time. He didn't mind a wet track he just didn't like the rain. But they had gotten farther than they had ever thought that they would ever get because they had bought the horse because they wanted their obituaries to read "He dabbled in Thorobred Racing". They were at a class reunion and were sitting around drinking and talking about what they had done and were planning on doing and decided to buy a race horse. And not knowing anything about horses bought a gelding. Not thinking that one day it might really win anything important. And then when he won the Derby and then the Preakness the importance of the word "gelding" dawned on them and they began to realize the potential that was lost because of what had been done to the horse. But if it hadn't been done he would have died. But no one even thought to preserve anything. Because he just wasn't considered prime running stock. Boy were they wrong. I used to watch the show Thorobreds on Animal Planet at 4:30 a.m. cst3:30 est on Sat it was about the Boniface family at Bonita Farms in Maryland they are the owners/breeders of the last Triple Crown winner Affirmed 25 yrs ago. I loved watching that show. I didn't know too much about race horses before I started watching the show by the time they took it off the air I had learned enough to talk horse with the best of them. I wish I knew how to get it back on the air. They show those stupid infomercials about how to take hair off and how to make your hair look thicker and those pasta pots and how to take the air out of all of your clothes and blankets and things. But God forbid they show something worthwhile that somebody who can't sleep might enjoy watching. I forgot the Belmont was running today. I watched the Derby and the Preakness I am glad that I missed it now don't think I would have liked to see him lose just hearing about it makes me sad. At least his owners feel like they have come out on top. And with attitudes like that no one loses there are winners all around.

And Brenda it is nice to be back as well I do love coming to the Garden. But it is a lot like eating peanuts. Once you start it is hard to stop. I want to read and respond to all or at least to as many as I can. And that takes so much time. It turns into a full time job just reading the postings and answering as many as I can. If I wasn't so windy I guess it wouldn't take me so long. But you know me. Diarrhea of the fingers and they do run on and on. I do think I have them under control finally though. Have a good evening. Love to All Aloha Kulani

I watched parts of it Brenner, yes it was a disappointment. My first DH and I used to go to the Belmont track, brought back good memories. I was very good at winning and always did well. Lots of fun times there.

I was a good girl today and stayed in my wheelchair..LOL!! I get my walking cast on Tuesday, Hooray!!

It's okay to have a lazy day once in awhile. I have lots of those days, LOL!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend...Susie

Hugs,

..

Susie, you are a woman with a past! LOL I forget that you have not always lived in the heartland. I have never been to a horse race, but so many people from my area go to the Derby every year. Even the high school band has marched in the parades before.

Two more days until you are more mobile. You have been very patient with all this.

I had to stop watching when he lost.

I have never watched a cross country race. Do your daughters still run (or walk) for exercise?

Kulani, I love to read your posts. I just wish we had the old format so that I don't miss so many . Sometimes I have more time on the board than at other times.

Has it been that long since we had a triple crown winner? I did like these owners. I saw them on a couple of shows, but didn't know what you shared.

I agree with you about all the infomercials. I pay for cable, and late at night 90% of the stations have infomercials.

I forgot all about it. Somehow the first two races get my attention and I think of the Belmont as being a month away. I hope my absence didn't cause Funny Cide to slow down (lol).

Have a fun day. Kathey
